Saw this at a busy Didsbury last night. OH fell asleep so I'm enjoying all the chat as I was very confused at the end. Thought is was very atmospheric and well acted but too many loose ends for me. 6/10.

I think this calls into Kill List territory for me. Not nearly as good as it desperately wants to be.

Completely agree with soonforgotten on this one (well written review as always, btw). 5/10.

Highlight of the evening was the make-up Beate gave me from her Help screening. At least, it weren't a complete waste - thanks Beate!

I was so busy reading the Immortals thread and thanking my good instinct for escaping that particular train crash of a film that I forgot to say I was at Odeon Covent Garden this evening with OH where we met cliveas plus friends, as well as two networking friends of PXC's that I see around a lot - they got their tix from PXC of course. It was respectfully but not entirely full, and the screening was fairly quiet.

Knowing the twist already, I was able to concentrate on the little details and watch certain people from the onset, and I still stick to my original opinion about the slightly ambiguous ending. Would have loved to ask the director a few questions, but the Q&A was actually a short talk from a parapsychologist who was amusing but didn't add anything to the film really.

Still 9/10

I was at the Odeon Covent Garden tonight.
I liked the film. Very atmospheric with some effective and unsettling set-pieces. The doll's house bit in particular.
Well directed and the acting was excellent especially Hall and West. Poor Joseph Mawle though, who seems destined to play slightly creepy weirdos for the rest of his career (and to think he once played Jesus*)
My only gripe with it was that the ending felt a little too over-familiar. Any surprise it could have had slightly undermined from being similar (though not identical I hasten to add) to a lot of recent ghost story films.
Still it's a watchable and stylish film and worth seeing.

I did enjoy the brief talk from Richard Wiseman afterwards and it was very amusing but it did feel oddly light and not entirely relevant after such an intense film. A director Q&A would have probably been more fulfilling. I would however be happy to listen to Richard Wiseman talk more as it was quite brief and all the stuff about ghost photos and face recognition was fascinating and very engaging.
