Re: Immortals
That's hardly fair. They get the better seats for arriving later? I suppose there no need to rush to get there early then if thats the way they're going to do it.a_person wrote:I wasn't on the balcony. IMDB is full of plant reviews from people who worked on the film. If you've got an account please click 'no' the review was not helpful for anything blatantly over the top in praise (it's very obvious): http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1253864/reviews Ta

Re: Immortals
Back from Glasgow showcase. Full to the brim as they used a slighter smaller screen though not that small. Had a discussion with both SKY rep and cinema about the certificate of it. Turns out it was a 15 (which I knew) but as SKY and The Metro had advertised it as a 12a there were people with young teenagers. They decided that if the child was with a guardian then they could go and see it. However two boys of no more than 13 had to call their parents before being let in.
I liked it but it is the mindless storyline and some fights really kinda thing I enjoyed. Plus I used to be into Greek and Roman Mythology. Recognised more people than I thought. 3D was wasted unless the idea was to enhance and sharpened the film. 6/10

Re: Immortals
Could not have put this better myself. I'll give it 3/10 though only cos I enjoyed looking at Henry Cavill with his shirt off :)funthing29 wrote:To call this film shit is a bit of an understatement. This has to be one of the worst films I've seen this year (alongside Kill List and Transformers 3). It fails in all the way a film can fail: bad acting, weak script, crap dialogue, tacky costumes, mediocre special effects, pointess 3D and an illogical story! 2 hours I will never get back. 1/10.
Preferred cinemas:
Weekdays: Central London (all West End), West India Quay, Greenwich O2, Vue Islington
Weekends: Greenwich (O2, Odeon, PH), Vue Stratford City, Stratford PH

Re: Immortals
Jobbies!
Utter jobbies. (Assuming that is not just a Scottish word?)
Fullest I've seen a cinema in a long time - had to squeeze into a single seat, but only one row in front of Biggins! Yay! Nice to see her and she didn't manage to hide from me in the ladies this time.
I really struggled to understand what was going on in this movie - not helped by all the characters looking the same. Never even noticed Stephen Dorff. I don't think I could even bear to see this again on TV for free, never mind b*ying a DVD - heaven forbid! - torture.
Can't believe my +1 - my brother-in-law - had never been to a 3D film before. What a shame this tripe was his first.
Is my 100th film of the year! Yay!

Re: Immortals
What a load of nonsense...Gods, beasts, demons and humans all fighting, a son wanting revenge on his mummy, crappy 3D (of course) and half baked greek mythology story.
Yep, I really enjoyed it. Naa, I didnt make any spelling mistakes there, I had a blast. The action was pretty damn good. There was at least more story than Conan the Barbarian. Mickey Rourke was pretty cool as usual in his comback years. Actually, I never did see what the fuss was about him in his early so called "prime" days. Its only until after he f***cked himself up he seem to be really damn cool if tragically typecasted. Feels wrong in me saying that especially considering the stuff I preach...I'm such a hypocrit. f*** yourself up and you will be cool after re-hab, worked for Robert Downey Jr too. Huh...ok for the record and my reputation I better say, I dont recommend such a path
Oh, I do have to say that I was seriously misled in what I perceived a TITAN should look like. I'll say no more.
Another thing, the best sequence in the film, I had already bloody seen in its entirety at the Empire Big Screen event. Its only until I started watching the movie that I realised, they gave the damn plot away. I already knew the fate of several bloody characters. Nevermind, still enjoyed the film even if it looks like only myself and it seems Weirdo too are the only ones who did.
Oh it was great to see a_person, MariaLionza and Weirdo.
Edit: forgot to rate it: 7/10. Story was half baked is its main shortcoming...pretty much like my review.
