That is really good service! Our appointment-booking system is a complete nightmare, as you are only allowed to book for half a day at a time; if you miss that, you have to wait until booking opens for the next half-day and of course, there's a mad rush on the dot of 8.30 am and 11.30 am. Then they won't let you book more than 24 hours ahead; this is a cyncial ploy to enable them to meet government targets and say every patient is seen within 24 hours, but not everyone wants an appointment that soon. If/when you get to see a GP, they are all fine, but you have to jump over multilpe hoops first.Beate wrote:My surgery is open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday 8am to 5pm so can't really complain there. You always get an appointment within 48 hours although never with the doctor you want.

Re: The Diary Room
It's a beautiful morning in Surrey and sunny from first light, but so cold to start with - even with 2 pairs of gloves on, my fingers were hurting. This has to be the coldest morning for months, here. Much more of this and I shall want the central heating on.

Re: The Diary Room
tis a fuzzy day here in the north-east with a hangover hovering overhead which will hopefully blow out to sea before this evening and a strong chance of a catnap or two this afternoon. but through it all, i am looking resplendant in lemon pj shorts, fake primarni ugg boots and a black velour hoodie with the hood pulled firmly up. in dire need of comfort food and loads of chocolate.

Re: The Diary Room
No, I am on holiday this week. Why is it you always get a stinking cold when you are off work? Slept the whole afternoon while my friend went off to watch several films, after we had followed Richard III on a walk through Mayfair where he talked about all sorts of things but failed to give the Punchbowl a nod when we passed it, so I decided to alert at least the Americans in our party by exclaiming "Oh look! Guy Ritchie's pub!" Cue a few cameras came out, LOL.
I am soooooo TIREEEDDDD....

Re: The Diary Room
I thought there was supposed to be a postal strike today, but the sorting office was open and busy as usual and, amazingly, we have even received a delivery and before midday. (I laughed when I read about proposed changes which might mean some customers not receiving their post until as late as 3 pm - that's already often the case here.) But still no Time Out magazine. It will hardly be worth having if/when it does arrive. Is the strike just local to some areas?

I think some areas are worse than others. We've had some post at work today. Unless the 30,000 temps are doing a better job than the old lot..?! If so, keep the temps!!!
