My tickets clearly stated 12A! My friend's - TBC... Anyway we were not alone! They "fished out" about 20-25 people in total with children from 10 or 11 to 14?. And they did't let us in!!! The manager said he can't do Nothing !!! for us!!!. The Sky girl tried to help... called the headoffice, took our details... arranged for some people to see Jonny English and for some to see Tintin.... BTW Jonny English wasn't such a bad choice after all!!! Anyway the whole thing was quite unpleasant.... :X But it looks like we were spared of a bad film :shifty:
I was always under the impression that the age limits for movies were suggestions and as long as there was an adult to accompany children it was their responsibility and they'd be allowed in? Not that I agree with this, I've just never seen it made compulsory and enforced. I think you guys were better off with Tintin (and even Johnny English) though, from what I've read so far!

If I'm wrong I stand corrected, but for 12A films, under 12's must be accompanied. 15 & 18 - if you're under those ages you're not allowed in (regardless of who you're with).

I didn't think this was terrible, but the script definitely needed some work, I laughed at some parts purely because the responses were so stupid!
I didn't like the Gods, thought they were ridiculously cocky and power hungry just like the titans but more civilised :/ (though when fighting, not so much)

I dont think we really got much on an insight into the so called lead, and nearer the end I didn't really care for any of the characters :/
5/10
And thats only because there were 5 good action scenes!

Saw the film last night at the Leeds Showcase, which was nearly full. There is no story, what little plot there is is rediculous but the battle scenes are good, with lots of CGi if you like that sort of thing. Glad I didn't p*y for it or I would have been angry at being ripped off.

Looks like you are right in England but not in Scotland

I never tried to take a child into a 15 a 18 movie before, but I booked Immortals on 2.11 and my tickets stated 12A!!! and my reminder from Monday said 12A!!!! and it's not local for me and we were already there and it's greek mythology!!!
How bad (sex and violence I mean) was it? Worse than evening TV?

It is the same in Scotland and the rest of the UK. These are age restrictions. 12A was added almost 10 years ago because there was a big age gap between PG - Parental guidance and 15. However since this film is a 15 then SKY was in the wrong for advertising it as as 12a. The cinema is only going by the BFFC. I only mentioned it to the SKY rep and cinema last night as I already had a discussion with my friend in the morning who wanted to bring her partner's son who is only 10. In my opinion I think the only reason why they decided to let in the young teenagers were because none were younger than 12 and were with their guardians. Plus the biggest factor was this was in effect a private viewing. SKY had hired the screen. However I don't think they should had been allowed in. But then I don't have to deal with the chaos.

If these same young teenagers came with their parents/guardians today and tried to see this today when it is on general release they would be told no.

I'm not a parent so certification doesn't affect me. However, when friends ask me I always check on BBFC. I would never go by what it says on ticket especially if travelling. Mistakes can happen. Easy enough to do when you book ticket rather than waiting until you arrive at cinema.

For the record I rather enjoyed the film but found The Gods annoying and wasn't impressed by majority of 3D.

I thought this was great fun! Yes it was nonsensical and the acting left a lot to be desired (I find that in about 90% of films anyway!) but there were some great fighting action scenes! Mikey Rourke was hilarious...........when he wasn't killing all his chums, he was stuffing his face!
Some great headgear on show and Stephen Dorf forgot to 'mask' his American accent most of the time - has he not seen Harry Enfield's portrayal of Stavros?!
And another thing - Theseus had bigger 'threepenny bits' than the Oracle!!
7/10 for me!

Not strictly true. There was always a 12 rating but the BBFC changed it to a 12A to allow under 12s to be accompanied by an adult.
