Just a theory.[/spoiler]
I wondered about this too. It was disappointing that it was never explained why this had happpened. Agree it was a bit slow and rather too long. 6/10

Saw this at the Lowry last night. I was looking forward to it but after watching it for an hour was ready to go home. Stuck it out until the end, it got slightly better but didn't like the ending.

Yes, I complained last night to Vue on their website and on Sky's feedback form. Let see when they will answer!

Got a reply from Vue to my complaint:

It really spoilt my enjoyment of the film. Just because it is a Sky Rewards screening, it does not mean we should get a lesser customer service. Last time when I complained to Vue, they said I should find a manager, but I do not want to miss the end of the film, looking for a manager, as you will have to go back to the foyer to look for someone to fetch a manager. It is a shame multiplexes seems to think that as we did not p*y, care does not have to be taken for our enjoyment of the film. It is also a shame Vue Islington is a really nice cinema, good local location, and I enjoy using it as a pa*d customer, but as a Sky Rewards customer, it seems to be a different service. I get the feeling that as we have not pa*d, there is nothing they can do and that is the way it is. Surely Sky has pa*d to reward its subscribers. We spoke to Claire Buckley the Duty Manager afterwards, who was unable to make amends, as she says it is up to Sky. Clearly it is Vue's responsibility to keep their customers satisfied and happy whether they are attending a Sky Rewards screening or not.

Thank you for your e-mail.

I am sorry to learn of the lighting issues experienced during the Sky Rewards performances that you have attended previously, and also of the seemingly-diminished level of customer service experienced during your visits. I would like to assure you that all of your comments will be addressed with the cinema's management team for internal investigation into any staff-training issues to be rectified as necessary.

As a gesture of goodwill and by way of apology, I would like to offer you a £5 Gift Card - which can be used to go towards, or make in full, purchases of food, drinks and/or tickets inside any Vue cinema - to go towards your next visit to Vue. If you could please reply to this e-mail with your full postal address, I will arrange for this Gift Card to be sent to you as quickly as I can.

Kind Regards,

Paul

Now I am wondering whether to bother seeing this film, and definitely ending up even more tired after the second late night it would entail (first followed Moneyball preview yesterday) and possibly underwhelmed, too. IMDB made me want to see both films (scores of 8+ each) but I didn't rate Moneyball quite that highly and, judging by the comments here, think I may be even less impressed by Take Shelter. Time Out has given it 4 stars but I suspect this is yet another film (seem to be a few of these lately) more popular with the professionals than the public. Advice, please, anyone?
