Saw this last night in Bristol. Cinema was almost full I think.

I thought the film was ok. Not too serious and didn't require a lot of thinking which is sometimes all you are looking for in a romcom! Rather predictable in places - but what mainstream film isn't nowadays!

Good film to get you in the spirit of new year - until you remember how expensive new years is and stay at home instead!

5/10

Saw this yesterday in ilford. Harmless enough, if very cheesy, predictable and sometimes simply not funny. I agree with others who say it'll get you in good spirits for the new year, definitely did that to me and i'm anticipating it even more now! 6/10

I've just remembered ew had a security guy with the vison goggles, diligently sweeping the room before it started, but once the film started, he and the other guy just sat down and watched it

I don't notice product placement, even if its subliminal. When i'm following the story its automatically ignored as not being part of it. I guess i'm abnormal then.

You're not the only one, our steve. I totally ignore that stuff in films usually. In fact the only thing I did mentally note was the name on the grand piano at the party! The Toshiba & nivea stuff just washed over me and only after reading soonforgotten's review did I click all that.

We'll be abnormal together ;)

Same here (most of the time), I didn't even notice the nivea or toshiba.... but I did spot the Sherlock Holmes advert in Times square, I think it was because it's a real movie coming out. If they were going to base in the 'real world' they should have just called the 'jensen' act 'jon bon jovi' rather than an invented name.

I usually p*y no mind to it, but then it's rarely so in your face as it was here.

The reason I hate this film so much is because it epitomises cinema at it's worst. Yes, it's inoffensive. It had a load of stars and takes no chances at all. Its only purpose is to cash-in on the appeal of the big names and once it does so it's one long advert. I find it truly appalling and of no value at all.
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

I don't know why they put this in a tiny screen though and did not let anyone in until 15 minutes before the start time - the queue was going around the block! There were loads of latecomers, and at one point some of them stopped right in front of us discussing where they should go, totally blocking our view. There was also some loud talking going on coming from the left - not that the security guy cared much.
Security guard on our side was glaring his evil stare of death and telling people off for having their phones out when in actual fact it was just the light reflecting off a bottle or a shiny package of food :shifty:
That guy was taking his job seriously :shifty: . Kept standing up through out the film.

The film was ok. It wasn't too serious and rather predictable in places but still enjoyable.

Good film to get you in the spirit of new year and I really like the ending.
