Expect our resident Mr Motivator (ie Mr Glass) will have some tips about other exercise you can do indoors! :)
You've done brilliant robertjags and its just a blip, judging by the lack of activity on this thread you are probably not alone.
Well done thinking of your food diary you have inspired me to get my act together, I'm going to the cinema 4 times this week and going out on the other nights so I need to fit in some exercise somewhere and watch what I'm eating.

robertjags wrote:Totally hit the diet wall in the last 3 weeks and rather than losing weight I've managed to increase by 1.5 pounds, thanks to crisps and biscuits. So going back to the beginning and keeping a food diary for the next week which will force me to consider if I want to have the biscuit rather than just nibble away without counting my syns.

Oh and haven't managed to get the jogging plan started as up here in Scotland we've had snow or hail or extreme winds or horizontal rain almost every day since I decided to take up running. While the conditions are there to be conquered they really aren't the best to start learning a new way of exercising so I'll stick to walking for a wee while yet.
Just as Diane and Anakin said, we go through blips and I just went through one myself having fell sick all week last week and succombed to the easy food and no exercise. So I have put on too. But I am not letting that drag my spirits, its just a small obstacle to swat aside.

The food logging and diary is fantastic, its something I always recommend but not in too much detail. Just plan your summary meals ahead, as you would with exercises. Dont get bogged down with too much detail.

For home exercises, I always recommend this you tube channel for workouts. Her coaching is very good and technically proper. Use the channel search to pick out.

This guy does some effective high intensity Interval training workouts that lasts just 10 minutes but make sure you do a 5 minute dynamic warm up stretched before you start and cool down stretches at the end. They always seem to neglect this but make sure you do it.

Interval training is the key top faster fat burn and you can do these at home. I recommend b*ying a set of dumbbells or stretchband or even both because we need variety.

This girl does some great workout videos too, she coaches technically better and correct and doesnt forget the stretches. But she doesnt use music to get your andrenaline going, thats the only drawback.

But dont worry RJ, you're just plateauing. 1.5lbs is nothing, you'll lose that back in a week or so. You are so aware of yourself and thats great. So go on RJ plan that food diary and your exercises to for the week ahead, we're all right behind ya ;)

And that goes for me too. Managed a couple of 5ks running to the cinema in the last couple of days. will hit the gym shortly during my very late lunch break.

Come on Diane, 4 times going to the cinema means you have 4 opportunities to do brisk walks to or from the cinema ;) Everything can used as REASON to exercise not as an excuse not to. So lets get to it ;)

I ran to the cinema yesterday, and from the cinema on Monday. Here's my proof:

:) It was raining on Monday so I only ran half way home but I when I stopped, I was at Elephant & Castle and I thought hey I can fit in an hour of weights too at my gym (I have a network gym pass, so I can go at different locations, very handy membership).

less than 2 weeks for xmas, embrace yourselves, fit in those exercises whenever you can girls and boys! I need your encouragement too, xmas is very powerful, I know I can get swept by it too! Lets help each other!

Cheers for the kind words guys.

Day 1 down and no rubbish eaten. The food diary really helps you consider whether to have that snack rather than just chomping away.
Always on the lookout for spare GLASGOW tickets. Thanks to all those great sharers who keep me going with plenty of free nights out.

OK point taken and you are practising what you preach. I will fit in some extra walking, I'm working at a different clinic in the morning which is half a mile from my base so I will park my car at my base and walk there and get off the tram at an earlier stop so can walk an extra bit to the cinema. I'll be dancing on Friday night so extra exercising and can do a long walk on Saturday. Thanks for the encouragement (nagging) I need it and well done you with your runs and workouts. o/

I havent come on this forum (yeah forum not thread) for about a week I think, apart from the odd preview alerts. But this thread is always my first stop to see how everyone is getting on...

Why is everyone silent?...oh yeah its bloody Xmas ;) The hurricane is upon us...I myself barely got my fingertips gripping onto a handle bar (no, not on my waist) trying very hard not to be swept into the eye of the hurricane of chocolates, cakes, pies and especially Mother's delicious cakes.

Enjoy the Xmas festivities boy and girls but make an attempt to up the exercises to compensate whenever you can :)

I will try and think of a way in which that I have been healthy over the last 2 weeks but apart from dancing at 2 Christmas parties and eating plenty of satsumas nothing else springs to mind. Me and a colleague did walk to the work's Christmas lunch about a mile up a hill/slope whereas everyone else took their cars so that might count (we were offered a lift and declined)
