LOL

Well at least you noticing its going up and up ;) Put a toad into hot boiling water and it will hop straight back out. Put it in cool water and gradually turn the temperature up, the frog will stay in the pot not noticing the small change in temperature that is occurring. Poor toad.

Our lives are like that, if we dont p*y attention to our health. Since, unlike the poor toad, you are acutely observing your weight going up, then do something about it and watch it go down instead! Or at least keep it steady, dont over indulge.

You all settled in new job now? Hope you recovered now from your bout of not wellnessness!

Me and a colleague did walk to the work's Christmas lunch about a mile up a hill/slope whereas everyone else took their cars so that might count (we were offered a lift and declined)
Lol, sorry you just made a funny "declining" joke without realising!...ahem, yeah I know I laugh at silly things. Sound like you having a great Christmas, party girl! Like the dancing, wish I could dance without looking like a kangaroo on steroids. You know you are going to have more fattier stuff than normal but you can control it by eating slower, half portions with OH, drink lots of water etc and do more of those walks. Whats happened with the DVD? And how about the Wii console..

Have fun everyone but just be mindful of your health at the same time :)

Just re read what I had written  As for the DVD I have dusted the case but I will use it again and I haven't got a Wii. I believe Kangaroo on steroids is so this season, it doesn't matter how you dance just go for it and have fun. o/
I walked to the shops today more so as I had had my annual large glass of Bailey's last night and wasn't sure if I was ok to drive today (I like to wait 24 hours until its out of my system). As for sharing portions you are asking a bit much from me
I'll do the water and walks.
Hope everyone has a happy and healthy Christmas.

Apologies in advance, Mr G, but I need to eat some junk to make room in the fridge/freezer for all the Xmas food OH will be cooking. So I just have to have pizza for dinner, it can't be helped, and there's some leftover white wine also taking up valuable space. But it's not all bad: when OH got home from work, wet and bedraggled, and asked if he would be required to venture out again to procure Maltesers for me, I gave him the evening off.

I'll say this in advance " that was naughty!" but good news about the maltesers though ;)

I too adore Maltesers and I think that I have got a box for Christmas (I always get a box to go with my pressie of my daughter (I drop enough hints)) so will be tucking into them while I am watching Downton Abbey. I'm delivering Birthday pressies today so will walk - my friend's birthday is on Christmas day so we make her special day Christmas Eve.
Just watching Nigel Slater making a muesli/flapjack bar so it looked fairly healthy until he dipped it into plain chocolate making it heaven on a bar will that count as fibre

I've been keeping away from this thread in shame as i've done nowt healthy but somehow not put on any more wieght, still 86kg.

Have a healthy truffle recipe for you all :))

100g walnut pieces
250g soft pitted dates
finely grated zest of one orange
100g good quality dark chocolate

These are so easy to make and taste absolutely delish

chop the walnuts first and reserve a little for the top of the truffles
chuck everything in a food processor/blender
When its whizzed and mushy roll your little balls and place on a tray lined with greaseproof paper (i've done it without. you can prise them up with a fish slice and you end up with tasty chocolate orange buttons from the dripped chocolate...gorg)
pop in the fridge for 15 mins while you're melting your choccie
You can either skewer the balls and dip em in the chocolate or pour the chocolate over the balls and half coat them, i like the messy way as you get a nice raw rustic look.
pop em back in the fridge to harden then voila, you have your tasty little treats.

I wish everyone a tasty indulgent christmas :xmas:
