I thought this was dreadful. The modern story was so much a made-up mess so as to be able to capture the relevant moment in the Wallis/Edward story. I found nothing redeeming about it and it seemed to me to be a massive power trip for Madonna who directed and co-wrote this rubbish. And I am fed up with Q & A sessions where the microphones don't work and the speakers don't speak up (and I'm looking at Ms Riseborough here -- she may sound fine on film but she cannot project at all). Get it sorted out beforehand or don't bother with it.

That reminded me at the Q&A yesterday at Margin Call - the mike did not work, and Paul Bettany just gave it back to the interviewer and said he had enough of that thing and just projected his voice. Actors may be good at acting but it does not necessarily make them a good speaker?

Exactly being the director and the the film being a "british film". Did she not put some of her money into the film? I would thought she would have been brave and gone to do some Q&A (and obviously prepare to face any criticisms). Sadly I think she's chickened out...
