Re: The Artist
According to today's Telegraph Odeon in Liverpool are giving refunds if people complain in first 10 minutes.

Re: The Artist
That's ridiculous. Might as well give them refunds because it is B+W too. Fair enough - I was disappointed - but that was a preview. I think everyone now knows what The Artist is like. You don't go to a silent film then whinge when it is silent! Plebs.

Re: The Artist
Wish they would do that for other films, I seen some howlers! Anyone who left this film after only 10 minutes would not have had chance to appreciate how good it was....they wouldn't have chance to use their tissues either (no admittance to shedding a tear or two!)alythonian wrote:According to today's Telegraph Odeon in Liverpool are giving refunds if people complain in first 10 minutes.

Re: The Artist
Exasperation, really? No it was my heart strings being pulled, I'm just a big softy and it's really embarrassing watching films in the cinema where you can't hide your emotions, that's probably why I prefer to watch horror movies because they don't make me look so softstuartboy wrote:Tears of exasperation!

Re: The Artist
I thought this was the most wonderful film I have seen in ages! I went at the weekend with a friend - OHs drew a line and would not come along - their loss I think. This film hit all the right buttons for me.
However, the film was not shown at Cineworld Boldon (or Middlesbrough); it had one week at the Odeon, MetroCentre; a two week slot at The Empire, Newcastle; and is still showing at the Tyneside (independent).
Perhaps, when it receives all the Oscars it deserves, it will be re-released up here, and other major cinemas will screen this film.
10/10 from me - And that little dog, Uggie, ought to receive a doggie Oscar!

Re: The Artist
Well he won the Palm Dog Award which is about the highest award a canine in the movies can win.andrews wrote:And that little dog, Uggie, ought to receive a doggie Oscar!
There is also currently a campaign to add an Oscar for animals in film.

Re: The Artist
Maybe they did like in France (and elsewhere?) when students meets to talk about university problems (ok, when they're on strike, most of the time)

Put your hands up in the air and shake, people!
That's obviously the picture of a vote, not of applause, but please, just pretend ok?
