I would have seen Chronicle again if I wasn't covering that cataclysmic cock-up.
By the by, I think there's an exit at the back of the screening room as well as the front. I seem to remember people heading that way during a Kill List screening, for toiletries...

Tut tut, sounds like a cock up there. Still, they are nice seats. Almost fell asleep at a screening last week, not cos the film was rubbish, but man, those are good. Sony, Fox, Framestore.

I hope no-one went to that. Mercenaries was by far my worst film of last year - laugh out loud bad at some points.

I haven't had a late-night review writing session in awhile. I thought this was really interesting and quite good.

I've managed to put together a decent review without revealing much, because this will definitely benefit from as little knowledge of it beforehand as possible.

102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

I thought it will be a while before this film is on general release, but it's coming out next week

I can't find details on the prize itself whether it's just getting your clip put into that montage for that screening or something else as the T&Cs start going on about getting something of equal value.

so it was a screening comp after all! well they made that clear as mud in the comp info!

Congrats to the Chronicle Challenge winners who are attending a special screening of #ChronicleUK tonight http://youtu.be/vUwjf43tKJ8

Just came back from seeing this at the Trocadero.

I think many of us predicted that we would soon get a superpowers version of the "lost footage" genre. Really glad that we got a pretty damn good one here.

I had real had blast with this. Highly entertaining but rather predictable and very clichéd storyline. In fact I couldnt help comparing this to
Carrie
. Yeah, I had to put that in spoiler because I feel just naming the movie its similar to, would give away too much! The core storyline is very similar. And this may sound bizarre (or maybe not so bizarre coming from me, since I am a Star Wars fan) but the storyline is an exact replica of a Star Wars fan made movie...seriously, exactly the same. (If any of you are interested in which film I'm talking about, I'll try find it..its not that popular but it is very good for a fan made film)

Its the whole execution of the film that wins me over completely. The dialogue was witty and engaging and there was a delightful balance of humour, drama and "whoa cool" moments.

Even though I could see where this film is going, it was still compelling and thats mostly down to the actor who plays the
Carrie
style character. He was superb. His performance gave the film more depth and realism than you would expect from an OTT high concept film like this (or deserves for that matter).

But despite my gripe about originality this was great fun and a blast to watch with the enthusiastic cinema audience I was amongst tonight. Roll on a sequel...or maybe not.

8/10

Edit: I did an Orange Wednesday/Cineworld combo with my friend for the first time and it works, no issues. They accepted the orange text and my pass together.
