I wanted to ask - is this one of those movies which will be ruined for you if you have opinions on the two of them already? I will admit, I'm not sure I can get over thinking they're opportunistic Nazi sympathisers, no matter how well Madonna has crafted the movie!

Madonna totally glosses over any Nazi sympathising-- in fact she totally ignored it. Considering how everyone is raving about how much research she did for the film (years and years or so she claims), she seemed to know nothing about Wallis and Edward's not so pleasant...well downright unpleasant and nasty--sides. I don't usually discourage people from seeing films but I'd avoid this with a barge pole if I were you. Wish I had!

I went to see this film today in Milton Keynes...2 films in one really and had trouble getting my head round what was happening for the first 30mins.

I am afraid that JD was miscast as Edward, he was too tall for one thing...however Lawrence Fox was good as Bertie, and Natalie Dormer (who played the Queen Mother) was a bit too bitchy for my liking, and seemed to dominate Bertie.

Do you really go to a Sotheby's auction and 'cop' off with the Security Guard...it was all very handy and tied the loose ends up...lucky he had an apartment to take Wally too when she had been bashed up by her Husband. Although the walls could have done with a lick of paint. ??

Mohammed Al Fayed...well he was laughable really.

I will say that the costumes were lovely, as were the sets in the 30s.

5/10 from me.
