You kidding, he did that, what a git!! Ah, who am I kidding, I really did that, am so weak...I saw a choice of sitting next to one lovely girl and sitting next to several lovely girls...I'm so damn week, I couldnt help it! A guy like me just cant just handle those kind of options rationally :) Oh and did like where they were sitting...
But it was lovely to see you and OH, C_T, Valda, Mei & OH again. C_T good call with giving my 2/3 full unfinished popcorn to the poor homeless guys on the street in the dreadful weather. I shamefully never think about them, I was just going to abandon it in the cinema.
Anyway on to the movie. This was a jumbo popcorn bucket load of FUN! The story concept is silly...along the lines of say True Lies silliness. But absolutely entertaining and at times laugh out loud funny, largely due to the slickly playful performances from Chris Pine (doing an even better flirtatious Captain Kirk than he did in Star Trek), and Tom Hardy, 2 typical Hollywood good looking secret sevice agents (and close friends/partners) abusing their secret service powers to fight over the same girl they coincidentally find themselves dating. And that lucky girl is played by a wonderful Reese Witherspoon. Lovely to see her playing a comic role again and even though she isnt given a big chunk of the comedy, her charisma shines through while still cutting a fine sexy figure (though her puppiness looks has got a little leaner now) for the good looking boys to fight over.
Although the film starts off with an action setpiece and some straight off the bat smarmy play from the 2 leads, the real fun kicks off when the "war" starts. There are some hilarious situations and the film zips along at a frantic pace. There is a half ass thriller buried in the film somewhere to drive some kind of action orientated plot but it is very negligible with a thrill factor of zero. But thankfully very little time is spent on that, the film is about the war of the unorthodox dating/courtships between the 2 agents and that's what makes the a absolute blast.
This would be a perfect date movie for couples, would really spark up the moods, unless the female half wants to cry on a date movie then alright, go see Titanic 3D :)
Actually cinemas are releasing this on Valentines day only before its general release in March, smart move, but would be even better if they gave out more free preview tickets around UK
