Its been AGES since anyone posted up here, The motivation from New Year has gone methinks. i'm still 84kg but this week the fitness regime has been suspended cause i'm ill, i'll probably lose weight by default o/

Come on peeps, don't be shamed into silence if you've let it slip a bit. Its easy to get your fitness levels back up there again. You can resist those sweet temptations.

Well done for bringing this thread back to life as I've slipped into bad habits, I met my friend last night and had an enormous piece of delicious pink cake before I went to the cinema last night  (steve had threatened to snitch on me to MrG so I have come clean) I keep on using the I'm on holiday story but there is no reason why I can't be good in between. Hope you're soon feeling better and look after yourself.

Swimming will be a great way to exercise Aruif AND they'll be lots of opportunities in the summer seeing how we're going to have a scorcher 8-)

HIDE HIDE HIDE them all in a cupboard OR distribute them round your colleagues.

So sorry girls and invisible boys, I failed in my assigned role as Mr motivator for all of you lately, hope you wont sack me DIane!

I hope everyone is in groove though? yes/no?

I have to admit I have not been on par with my training build up towards my marathon in May...I am rather under trained! However, this morning I did the very tough Leith Hill half marathon this morning. I did this last year with a time of 2hrs an 4 mins and that included a 5min diversion of having got lost. Today, I regret to say I did it in 2hrs and 30ish mins (havent received exact time yet but I was one of the last batch of finishers) :(. But taking positives from it, I did complete it! But yes, its a poor perfomance for the standard i'd set myself last year. But at least it gave me a proper kick up the bum to pick up on my training and work hard for the next ten weeks before my marathon in Edinburgh. I have been complacent lately and this was a wake up call.

But it sure was lovely a setting and we get a nice quality goody bag that included those 3d glass ornaments, medal and a t shirt with all of our names printed on it (300 runners) then we get a complementary meal afterwards. Its also a great vibe. This is my favourite half marathon venue.

So Aruif, hows the swimming going?! Thats a great all round fitness activity, non impact too.

HAV, you've been great support on this thread for everyone, hows the Rhumba dances going? What about the hulla hooping too!

DIane, you globe trotter, hope you behaving yourself out there and in the kitchen ;)

and rawr_xoxo, mesa1779, and everyone else keeping on track?

Oh I wanted to post today :)
I am not following the diet you sent me as I noticed I couldn't plan what I eat like that or... simply just follow a diet :/
YET I have been drinking a lot of tea, walking a lot, eating soups / fruits and MEAT (yes, I cooked lamb the other day and even had a steak last week...).
I haven't done enough exercise, I know it, so I'm gonna focus on that for the moment.
I am amazed as two weeks ago I b*ght my first pairs of trousers since 2008, in size 14, which has not happened for a while. I even look ok with them, so it really encourages me to do more efforts!
I talked to you about the fact my material goal was a dress... It still is my goal, and actually I go to France in a few days so I will bring it back with me! :)
So, that's basically it. I feel healthier and better, but I need to do more efforts as I still eat looooads of chocolats, biscuits etc.

Ive been eating WAAAAY too much fruit, but I think this is in anticipation of going to America in 5 days and more than likely not seeing a fruit or vegetable for 14 days!
Shouldnt be eating too much over there any who, having cereal and milk from the walmart for breakfast to keep costs down, wont be eating much during the day due to the heat(its been 25+ all week! D:)
And having a proper meal on the evening which probably wont consist of dessert(we only had dessert twice last time), and their chocolate over there is naff!(no wonder kraft b*ght out cadburys!!) so I aim to do quite well!

Well done to both of you OCtopus and RX. o/ o/ o/ Octopus, that diet I gave you was always just meant for a guideline anyway. The reason its split into 5 meals a day is that the more you split your meals up, the more your metabolism rate of burning fat increases. Its a very big trick and it works. And congrats on fitting into a size 14 now...see that can only fuel your incentives to fit in that ultimate dress :)

RX, yeah ease up on the fruit and replace with veggies as best you can, to maintain the same intake of minerals and vitamins. Variety is key too. All colours of veggies, green yellow red, orange etc, that will cover all essential vits and minerals. Your progress is brilliant so far as it usually is. When you are in the States, its imperative you drink lots of water as you will dehydrate quicker over there...dont ever get dehydrated, you drink the water to prevent it.

Only eat less, if you are exercising less. DOnt be fooled by loss of weight because of the heat. Heat doesnt burn fat, you lose water content, hence why people think they have lost weight. But when they return to England, their weight returns back to normal. When talking losing weight, we talking losing body fat, nothing else :) Keep that in mind. I know America is full of junk food but they are not necessarily devoid of healthy food. Its important not to starve and go without meals. Please dont. Just eat as healthy as you can over there. You can eat less if you are not doing as much exercises to keep your calories in/calories out ratio in balance.

So happy to see you both progressing so well with your goals in sight. Awesome.
