Had a wonderful evening last night thanks to cliveas. I arrived at the pathway between the National Theatre and the BFI and noticed that the red carpet was out, thought it was for the Comedy of Errors, and thought ooh, how do I get into the National Theatre, as was supposed to meet cliveas in the bar area, had not noticed the posters were for the John Carter Premiere! As I was calling cliveas, I saw the posters and then cliveas appeared. So while he went off to collect our tickets I stood behind the press and photographers and got some really good views of the stars being interviewed, and even better the lady besides me managed to nabbed a copy of the stars list and their mug shots, so she was telling me who they were, ooh, there's John Carter, ooh, there's the director, ooh, the princess, ooh there's Mark Strong and William Defoe, it was great for some of the faces I did not recognise. Then it was time to get to the NT, go to the loo, and just in time to hear then announced that the show will start in 1 minute. Then had to pass by c-t and her friend to get to our seats, falling over some other people's bags after them, as they refused to pick them up to let me through!

And the rest of my evening's review is here, I thought in a more appropriate place!

Even when pxc is not attending the premiere, she still manages to get some red carpet action. :giggle:

I got stuck a the red carpet premiere too, except I was trying to rush to the NT to pick up tickets and couldn't find my way out... Eventually went through the BFI building, emerged on the other side and managed to get to the theatre.

Just got this email:

Please note that we have just been informed today by Disney that due to the high sensitivity of John Carter 3D, and the fact that we are inviting customers to see it before it even releases in the US, Disney will be operating very high security at these screenings.

Under strict instruction from the film studio, ALL MOBILE PHONES AND OTHER RECORDING DEVICES WILL HAVE BE HANDED IN TO SECURITY AND CAN BE COLLECTED FROM SECURITY AFTER THE SCREENING. Please understand that this is without exception and customers carrying a recording device of any kind (including without limitation cameras, mobile phones, laptops, iPads, other tables etc.) will not be allowed into the auditorium unless that device is handed over to security on entry.

Please leave your mobile phone and other devices at home if you do not want to part with them.

re; don_datta, yeah the same applied for me last night but i have to say, the security personnel were very professional and we had no problems getting phones back. (you are given a ticket to which an identical one is used to seal a clear bag so as not to get them mixed up)
