Re: Weight Watchers
Well done, great progress so far!
Perhaps vary the work out a little and thereby work out different muscles? Other than that it might be portion size? I know that's a problem of mine, though I have been better in recent months. Can't think of what else it is if you're eating healthily and not snacking..?

Re: Weight Watchers
I just like to accentuate Anakin's excellent advice. The body gets too used to one type of workout so its advisable to change it and give a little shock to the body every 4 weeks or so. You could also add 1 more workout session for the week. 3 times a week wont be overdoing it I think. If you are member of a gym, make an appointment with an instructor to give you an appropriate change of program for your target.jmd1983 wrote:I started out about 6 weeks ago after I came back from a holiday in Italy. All the lovely food and ice cream there really didn't help!
I didn't fit into my clothes anymore and just didn't feel very comfortable. Not terribly overweight but just a little and too much for me.
Have come down from 79kg to 74kg but am now really struggling to keep it off and to lose a bit more. Want to get down to about 69/70kg but can't see how I can do it.
Always bring a packed lunch (couscous, a sandwich, brown rice with veggie chilli) so I'm not that bad. Don't snack a lot during the week (not for lack of wanting!) and work out 2 evenings a week. But I seem to have kind of landed on 74kg now and staying put.
Any suggestions?
May I also suggest you monitor exactly what you are consuming for a few days and record the calorie total. Then use the following link to calculate what your calorie consumption should be to stay the same weight. Then deduct anything up to 500 calories per day to lose weight healthily.

I do this and have absolutely everything recorded including every glass of juice down to how much curry powder is in my tasty chicken curry
Oh and way to go with your weight loss so far

Re: Weight Watchers
Hi guys just reading through the posts...and wow haven’t you all done so well....give yourself a good pat on the back
To the post who mentioned missing WW as they felt they had put on weight my advice is to go...when I went to WW I needed more support on those times and missed so many I just gave up in the end and felt out of control
I'm still seeing the health advisor and getting there...I don’t know what I weigh or how many calories I have but with years of trying to lose weight I think I have a fair idea and my clothes are fitting better so I’m getting there. I just want this time to be the last and so I’m relaxing about things and taking my time. I write everything down too.
I had a bad week 2 weeks ago where I wanted to binge for a couple of days and then almost had to fight with myself for the other couple of days to get back to being healthy. In the end I phoned the health advisor, had a good moan and felt so much better. For me, being honest with myself, and saying I’m struggling which I’ve never done before seemed to help me.
Keep up the good work everyone and well done!

Re: Weight Watchers
OK, tonight, I had a drink with my friends as I occasionally do but this time we thought we go for one round of cocktails. One cocktail wont do harm. I chose a Long Island cocktail. Nice, thats all I had plus one shot of rum with diet coke which I already know to be 100 calories. I come home and look up the calories in a Long Island cocktail...

Re: Weight Watchers
Assuming you are underweight, read these articles. Keywords to etch in your mind is patience and healthy progression, dont try put it on too fast. Join a gym and get a program tailored for you which would likely include a resistance dominant training to put on weight in the form of more muscle than fat. But proper healthy nutritious diet is essential whether losing or gaining weight. Following articles should help you on the path but if your are underweight, I advise you see a doctor first for advice :)username01 wrote:any help on gaining weight????????????/

Re: Weight Watchers
I bet its a great feeling for when your clothes start to feel like they are fitting better, well done, keep it going. Make sure you save some money for new clothes when they start looking baggy, one of the major drawbacks of losing weight but hey its a welcome oneAllsinging wrote: I don’t know what I weigh or how many calories I have but with years of trying to lose weight I think I have a fair idea and my clothes are fitting better so I’m getting there.

Re: Weight Watchers
oops! @ the long island mistake.
i don't really have the time (or the willpower!) to exercise more than twice a week. i walk to work every day so am moving a bit. am just rather lazy i think!
i'm on the woman and home diet website so input everything i eat every day. am supposed to stick to 1500 calories a day to lose weight. i do stick to eat, sometimes eat a little less so i can have a treat on the weekend.
i do 2 exercise classes a week so the exercise is quite varied.
just getting frustrated that nothing is happening anymore! tempting to stick to celery for a week but then i will just break after 2 days and munch my way through a curry and a chocolate bar! :)
well done though everyone and thanks for the support!

Well done everyone, I think this thread really helps to stick with the diet, its good to know that other people are doing it aswell and its a good way to pick up tips.
780 Calories for a cocktail? that sounds like a lot but I bet it was nice
I'm still trying to get to my 10,000 steps a day with the pedometer, but I think its a losing battle, I get bored making sure I have it with me all the time and I found the other day that it doesn't click over when I'm on the exercise bike at the gym!
I'm at the horrible stage where I'm between clothes sizes, I'm hoping that the next few pounds is enough to get down to the next size. My work clothes are too big, but I don't want to sit in the office all day uncomfortable in the next size down, oh well, hopefully only have to wait a couple more weeks and then they'll be ok as long as Christmas doesn't get in the way
