Noises Off was marvellous, simply marvellous. My cheeks were sore from laughing so much.

This was first time being in a private box and it was great. The seats were brilliant and had such a wonderful view of the stage. Our raised position allowed a bit of people watching so spotted lots of famous faces in the stalls, including the very dapper Tom Hiddleston, Elizabeth McGovern and Brendan Coyle from Downton Abbey, Gina McKee, Ronnie Corbett and Mary Portas. There were some other faces that looked familiar but I couldn't place where I recognised them from.

A fabulous night out with some splendid comedy and lovely company. :D

What a shame did not know it was press night, did not realise the early start, as just got back from a long weekend, Monday night and then worked solidly all day until 5.50pm yesterday, jumped on a bus to the Aldwych and then immediately got stuck in traffic! Got to theatre at 6.35pm and got given tickets in the Gods, the back of the Grand Circle, very high up, but I later learn that there was another level above us! It was still a good view, but a bit far, and a black spot where you could not see one of the actors who was talking from off the stage at the front, but we saw him reflected in the big mirror opposite c_t/celini/funthing's box! funthing texted me and we waved! Also lovely to see tilly and mum before the show.

Noises off was brilliant, so hilarious and crazy! I laughed so much, and I wanted more too! So well acted and scripted, and clever. o/

jeancomp wrote:Just got back from Noises Off. It was hysterically, blissfully, laugh out loud till you cried funny. Unbelievably precise in the use of doors and props and their timing. Excellent cast, every one contributed. I would see it again tomorrow!
Well it took a week but I did see it again, in the fantastic atmosphere of Press Night. So we got to see some actors in the bar including Elizabeth McGovern and Brendan Coyle and some whose faces I instantly recognised but whose names frustratingly wouldn't come to mind. Maybe there will be FMUKers who have some photos to share so we can see them. Also spotted Mary Portas but you can't miss her.

The theatre was completely packed but luckily they left the seat in front of me empty so I had an excellent view. I enjoyed the show just as much the second time, the cast were completely brilliant and the timing amazing.

Lovely to see tilly and her mum and the 'ladies in the box'.

There were some girls in a box higher up to the left of the stage too, we were the ones on the right just above the stage :D

Apparently Trevor Nunn was there too! And WOS was playing the same game as us:
Celeb spotting at NOISES OFF's West End opening night. There's an eclectic mix: Trevor Nunn, Ronnie Corbett, Brendan Coyle and Mary Portas.

We had a fantastic night yesterday. I was quite surprised to find the auditorium full and even more by the fact that the play started just a minute after we sat down. I would have been mortified had I known its starts at 7pm and we are sooo late. We were given brilliant stalls seats be it in different rolls and I found myself on the same roll as Ed Stoppard. The play was as always hilarious and the press night atmosphere was great. I saw it last year but kept missing the code for the Novello Thearte until yesterday morning, it was a real treat! I was left out of breath from all the laughter and today I feel as it I have cheek stiffness from all the laughing.

Saw this last night with my mum.

Nice to see you prettyxcool and had a lovely chat with jeancomp and oh.

Saw funthing and Canadian_turtle in the box, looked like they were enjoying themselves.

I am glad I finally saw this as I had heard great reviews. I was not disappointed. It did start a little slow but by the 2nd half I was laughing loads. It was well worth the trip and have already recommended the show to friends. I hope more tickets are released as Id love my husband to go.

While it wasn't free (though I did get a good deal £12 for top price tickets instead of £39.50!) I want to mention Spamalot which I saw in Richmond last night. Not being familiar with the film it's based on (Monthy Python and the Holy Grail) or much of the Monthy Python humour really, I had no idea what to expect but it certainly wasn't the show I ended up watching. It was absolutely over the top ridiculous, yet it was also very funny. It was really up-to-date with recent affairs as well with mentions of Susan Boyle, Simon Cowell, etc. (VERY funny mentions). I am still not quite sure what exactly it was that I watched, but I do know I had a good time and the songs were fab and very catchy. 8.5/10

Glad you enjoyed Spamlot.
I thought it was great fun too! I saw it last year in Glasgow and went back to see it again this year. You're right it's very difficult to explain to someone what the show is like . . . . just fun & laughter!
