I know it'll be different and I certainly need to see it as such to be able to enjoy it, but meanwhile I'll keep teasing you :p (and continue to campaign for a recording of the UK stage show)

I agree. The Stacee character is a bit of a douche (like Russell Brand) so it would have suited him perfectly. On the other hand, Tom Cruise is highly versatile. I think you could have given him Sherrie's role and he would've turned it into gold...except with this arrangement, I'm not sure I would have enjoyed the men's room sex scene quite as much.

The problem I'm having with movie Stacee is that he looks like an old rocker. Whereas stage Stacee is young, someone with a few hit records behind his belt wanting to break free and go solo. Tom Cruise just looks like an old playboy really (albeit younger than he did in MI:4), so anyone younger would've done better...
