Re: Salmon Fishing in the Yemen
I forgot to say that my pyjama bottoms got the Hollywood treatment - Emily Blunt has good taste in sleepwear.
Re: Salmon Fishing in the Yemen
Seeing this tonight at Bluewater and really looking forward to it. I have read the book and loved it so hoping the film will be as good.

Just home from seeing this in shepherds bush. It was pretty packed.
Nice charming little movie. Few little jokes.
Not much else to say about it tho

Re: Salmon Fishing in the Yemen
I saw this last week in Plymouth. My husband and I brought the average age down quite considerably. As many of you know, I try to get there by 6pm to select my preferred seats. There were about 20 couples ahead of me when I arrived early. What was this all about? But when I got in, I found that they bagged all the business class seats and I was in economy class. So, with sulky OH sitting beside me (convinced he was about to see a documentary) I was in fine fettle.
Thoroughly enjoyed the film - very quirky and whimsical. Main actors gave fabulous performances. Possibly 8/10 from us.

Re: Salmon Fishing in the Yemen
Saw this in croydon today!
It was a very charming, pleasant film where you knew what was going to happen. I enjoyed the stunning scenery at some points. Few funny moments especially when Kirstin Scott Thomas told her on off.
Good cast and well acted but reminded oh of 4 weddings and a funeral due to the cast.

Re: Salmon Fishing in the Yemen
Saw this tonight at Islington Vue. Thank you to Prettyxcool for the tickets.
I have to say it is a gentle, whimsical and quite a quaint film. I have not read the book but there are some aspects of the film which are not well explained especially why there is a threat to the Sheik who is instigating the Salmon. Also the love interest thread for Emily Blunt did not quite work for me. I liked the start where the two leads did not get on at the start but we know that at some point there are just going to get along fine in the end. Acting was good all round.
The film was entertaining for a wet Tuesday evening.

The Premiere was terrible, and I found the film a tad boring!

Re: Salmon Fishing in the Yemen
Saw this in Glasgow. It was like what Celini said. The slow paced of it meant at times I found boring yet when it was funny it was really funny. Ewan McGregor was back at his best and surprisingly not naked at any point. Kirsten Thomas Scott was excellent every time she was on. Loved her dialogue with her son when he was leaving for school. And Emily Blunt I could just stare all day.
