yeaahh I'll hand it to you since you are a HG expert, but lets not forget people appear to age at different rates and different stages (J-Law may look young now but how fast will she age over the next 3-4 years)... mentioning no Tom Feltons...I mean, names lol. She will probably be ok though yeah, its plain to see why she got the nod (especially over the wooden Effy from Skins) she looks 19-20
and she can act
and is well hot for a blonde too.
edit -WTF shes only 21?? How did she get the x-men role?? I thought she was older than that but just 'looked young'.
Must admit, I am probably a semi-fan of the whole concept of HG now.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Yeah, I agree that adapting the third one will be the hardest (although I do seem to be alone in thinking that the ending was fairly spot on for a book about a bunch of people suffering from PTSD!)
Apparently Gary Ross dropped out because he didn't think he could finish the whole movie before Jennifer Lawrence starts shooting the new XMen in January.

I b*ght the book whilst up in the north-east over the weekend. I was utterly gripped and finished it in less than a day. I HAVE TO SEE THIS MOVIE NOW.
Go ahead, make my day - by visiting my blog:

Shame to hear about the news that Gary Ross is not directing the sequel.

Does this mean the next one will be in 3D?
'[on minimizing the use of special effects in directing The Hunger Games (2012)] We would be doing exactly what the Capitol is doing if we used 3D. We'd be exploiting what the book condemns: a mediacentric society where entertainment in that culture devolves into spectacle, and that spectacle evolves into political control.'

Re: 3D. The funniest thing I read on here a few days ago was the cinema where they gave out 3D glasses for The Cabin in the Woods (despite it not being a 3D film) and more than half the audience didn't even notice it wasn't in 3D, still wearing their glasses at the end. Says it all really!

I can understand sequels not being directed by the same director - that is films made subsequently on the back of original films simply to cash in on the success of the original - thinking any film with a number (Jaws 2,3; Highlander; Star Trek etc.) The hunger Games is a pre-existing trilogy though and ought to have the same director for all 3 to continue the same style of film throughout. That said, Harry Potter films have different directors, different styles and yet seem to work and please the audience.
