Mmmmm! Just back from Braehead. I thought ticket showed film as being 18 and yet screen showed 15. The first 10 minutes we had slight problems with synchronising of speech and mouths . . . maybe it would have been better left that way! :X
What a strange film . . . . so much more could have been done with the story.
Like Valda, I couldn't work out when the film was set or who the target audience were . . . . they had mobile phones and yet the house phones appeared to be Trimphones (own up if you remember these!). I did not like the main character, Elfie, and struggled to feel any empathy. I couldn't work out what age she was meant to be . . . she could drive and yet, played at being a detective!
Would I watch again . . . . Nope! :noo:

Marks 5/10

ps Was it only me that thought the girl twin looked liked Princess Eugenie or Beatrice?? (can't remember which is which! :daisy:)
Preferred cinemas: Best: Glasgow Quay, Glasgow Braehead, Glasgow Renfield Street, Glasgow Fort & Paisley
Others I'd go to: Glasgow Showcase Baillieston

Cant be bothered to review this tripe

2/10 purely for the laughs, acting was awful, hated elfie, and the head of the gammons family, stop prentending to be an animal or vampire or some crap...it just looks stupid!

I thought it was OK if you took it as The Adams Family meets Hot Fuzz meets the Famous Five; the time passed quickly enough 6/10
Lovely to see akh43 and Betty Botter again o/

I agree with McG, this was a very strange film. We also had problems at Liverpool 1 with the synchronisation of speech at the beginning.

The best parts of the film for me were the outfits and hairstyles that Ruby Gammon wore. Loved them.

The character Dylan Parker was suitably naive and geeky, but Jamie Winstone's Elfie was too old in parts to be a believable teenage amateur detective.

So far, looks like cancelling my ticket was a good idea.

I wonder what the Greenwich turnout was like

The screening at Liverpool tonight was less than half full.

Ruby looked liked Paloma Faith, I too loved her outfits.

Thanks to Akh43 for taking me as her plus one. Lovely to see Diane65 again. The Trafford Centre also had problems with synchronizing the sound for the first 10 minute. It was really bugging me where I'd seen Pippa (Kimberley Nixon) before - had to google it to put me out of my misery, it's Fresh Meat ! This film could have been so much better.
