Jenny Agutter was one of the Council Members -- upper right hand on the screen if I remember correctly but they were very dark and difficult to see.

Ok, so there is apparently logic to this whole thing but I had to visit IMDB to fully understand it.
Seems Loki had everyone under his control, and as Banner says in the last scene before turning into the The Hulk "The secret is...I'm always angry". And then he voluntarily transforms into the monster. So he does have full control. But then why does he almost try to kill Thor and Black Widow earlier? Well, you remember that scene where he was wielding Loki's weapon and becoming increasingly furious? I guess that's the dead giveaway as to how Loki was messing with all of their minds. I didn't p*y much attention to it because he seemed to snap out of it almost immediately following his speech. Perhaps falling out of the ship snaps him out of it for good, much like what happens with Hawkeye.
If that is what happens, it could have been depicted clearer imho.

Crashed when i came home last night. Long day in General helped by great company by Valda and her friend (although i had a massive headache in general even before the film which probably induced a BIT of staleness in conversation). . But i really really loved this movie. Not only a brilliant superhero movie but a brilliant movie in general. Joss Whedon's humour works brilliantly only it does kinda produce one or two out of character jokes, but they were funny and didn't hurt the movie
Loved how Hulk held a grudge against Thor and gets revenge when they are alone and their task has taken a break. One of the biggest laughs from me and the audience
.

Only problem for me? Needed a bit more development. Characters were well developed, just a bit of plot. There was no mention or buildup that
Nuking the Chitauri's main base would kill the army in general
. Unless they didn't know and just got Lucky. It kinda came out of nowhere. And it did show that 45 minutes was cut out of the film even though it was by no means an anemic movie

But yeah, overall, been waiting since 2008, Not disappointed in the slightest

9/10
Preferred cinemas (in order of choice): Hatfield, Enfield, Lee Valley, Watford, Leicester Square/Central London, Greenwhich or anywhere within the catchment area of those.

Jayman wrote:Oh no!! How have you not seen Iron Man nor The Incredible Hulk?
I assure you, BOTH are far better than Captain America (& Thor imho), and are definitely prerequisites to fully appreciate this one.
Even Iron Man 2 needs to be seen, as weak as it is.
I caught up with Iron Man and Thor over the weekend leading up to this (have yet to see The Incredible Hulk or Iron Man 2, I didnt have enough time for those) but Captain America is still my favourite out of those too.

Thanks for that explanation, this was bugging me too!
Clark Gregg: No, no, no. I talked to Joss Whedon early on. I said “Hey, why is everyone saying this?” And he said, “Yeah, I’ve done that before. Don’t worry. You’re safe.”
Oh thank god!
My own theory was that because Coulson is in the new Spiderman TV series shich is supposed to tie into the movie he can't be dead. But of course Spiderman can easily be set before Avengers...
