Woah, good choice there rawr! o/ You've just reminded me of how much I like salmon with sweet chilli. I'm mentally adding it to my list of healthy option ideas.

Isn't 18000 steps about 10 miles? I'm now puzzling over what on earth your job could be.

Seriously Diane, fantastically well done!! Exercise is ELEMentary in weightloss! EatLessExerciseMore - Hey, I quite like that!

OK - Today for me:

BREAKFAST: I've had a Pot of Earl Grey (no milk or lemon) - Big bowl of Melon chunks (the orange fleshed kind - not the pink Watermelon sort) and grapes (green).

LUNCH: Not sure yet, as I'll be out at the cinema - so I'll probably pop next door into Tescos for something.

DINNER: Fresh Salmon Steak on a bed of medium thread noodles drizzled (no - lets be honest - smothered!) with sweet chilli sauce. (Thanks rawr).

Be good everyone - Keep off the Slippery Slip! :D

EDITED - to say:

I thought that was very brave of you Diane to search on Google Images for "Karamel Sutra" - I'm not surprised that you were shocked by what you found :shifty: 8O .

aha Im bar staff Preston :P
That was my walk to the bus stop, walk to the cinema, walk to work from the cinema, and then everything from the start of my shift at 10.30pm to 4.35am
Needless to say Propoganda can get very busy!!
Im working Lostprophets tonight which is sold out, so depending on where they put me, it could be a similar outcome :)

Today Im not sure what im having^^
Due to being at my bfs house(who has no healthy food!)
Ive had 2 warbutons crumpets with a bit of butter for breakfast, fed the guinea pigs, come home, had a shower ready for work, now Im looking at hotel sales for a manchester trip and a london trip later this year,
Lunch, I really fancy a sweet chilli salmon fillet again, but alas I had the last one yesterday :( might see if theres any haddock!
Im going to see Lockout again before work tonight so thats an apple and a prawn mayo sandwich for dinner tonight^^

Oh! AND! For those who are struggling to maybe keep up a cooked meal thing each night or think its too expensive, Farmfoods is your saviour! £ bags of 5 pork steaks = £10, same goes for beef, lamb and they have several different fish offers, as well as frozen veggies and potatoes for cheap too.
I think the only expensive thing youll come across is the new freezer to put it all in o/

BTW Diane, just looked at my 2 tubs of Ben and Jerry's
Karamel Sutra is 260 per 100g
Frozen Yoghurt Phish Food(the frozen yoghurt versions taste alot better in my opinion!) is 220 per 100g

I finally got the courage to get on the scale again and yep I've gained another 14 lbs, which is hardly surprising. As luck would have it, there's lots of birthdays at work in the next 2 weeks, plus my own. So I'm trying to ignore the cakes and will not be going to my friends birthday drinks on Friday :(

This time I'm really going to try and sort myself out ( yeah we've all heard that before  )

OH and I have been invited by our GP surgery to attend a 12 week weight loss programme called "MyWeigh". It started last Thursday and is supposed to be a mixture of exercise, diet info and motivation, but I thought the first session was a damp squib. Ages were spent weighing and measuring people (we are 16 which I think is too much for one class), then we were put into groups and told to do a walk test by walking up and down the room for 6 minutes. After that we only had about 10 minutes on diet info which was spent on food groups etc. Apparently we are supposed to do 2 hours exercise per week but not really told how ("walk or play on the wifi"), and I left thorougly bewildered. Hopefully we will have more time for proper exercise and diet info next week but does anyone have any thoughts on appropriate exercise? Can I count the hoovering I did yesterday?

I've just got on the scales for the first time since I started this healthy eating programme and OMG :X I've put on another 8lbs in the last year (havingascreen it is 8lbs more that what I told you as my Mother's scales are kinder than the NHS ones I've been on today) I've just confessed the truth to akh43  So its definitely 28lbs that needs removing from my body, so my next weigh in will be next Monday. Valda I'm with you but we can do it together.

Beate 30 minutes brisk walking is a good start, a work-out DVD, cycling basically anything that raises your heart rate for at least 30 minutes. Our Fitness Guru is very busy at the moment so you'll have to rely on the rest of us for the time being but he will be back with a long post shortly.

Rawr-xoxo due to the excessive weight I will just have to dream about the Ben and Jerry's

Preston1990 that avatar is now beyond cruel :nono: and thanks for the offer of the character reference ;)
Loving the Churchill speech ha ha that is so funny.

NEVER cancel out treats! In my opinion thats why most people fail diets, they go 100% healthy then have a big binge because they havent had a treat every now and then.
Perhaps still choose the healthier Frozen Yoghurt versions, and make that your treat for the week? Or maybe month?

I always find NHS scales weigh me heavy, plus when I weigh myself at home I weigh myself in the morning before getting dressed :shifty: optimum conditions. To my thinking what the scales say is not the most important thing, the most important thing is to always try to weigh yourself on the same scales at around the same time and as long as the weight is going down thats a good thing. I always use my home scales to judge my weight, not sure they are 100% but having been weighed in the last week or so on NHS scales, at the end of the day there was only a couple of pounds difference and I was fully dressed so thats good enough for me.

I should be joining this thread as I do have more than a few pounds to lose though dont actually have a target to aim for, am reading everyone's input in the hope of spurring me into doing something. My problem is i'm a very faddy eater, dont eat meat, or salad, and the few things I do eat I dont really want to give up. The majority of my diet is ok, in my eyes, my problem is late evening snacking, which in part is due to my insomnia problem and staying up late. I'm sure if I went to bed at a reasonable time I would lose a few pounds without trying as I would be eating less snacks. Also i'm not much of an exercise person, my main exercise being walking as my job can be quite active, but currently due to foot problems not walking as much as I would like.

Thankfully Preston's new avatar is not the least bit tempting to me as I hate creme eggs with avengence, though I love most other chocolate
