Re: Jeff Who Lives At Home
Am I the only one that thinks this does not look that good?
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"
A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

I'm not too sure about film. I'll probably read more about film before next week. Film clashes, not with another film, but with me due to sing with choir that night.jcolombi wrote:Am I the only one that thinks this does not look that good?

Re: Jeff Who Lives At Home
I saw this with the Picturehouse Slackers club tonight and I am sad to say that you guys are absolutely right
I love Jason Segel and just looking at his cuddly self made me going to see this film not a complete waste of time, but overall it tries to be different and quirky, yet ends up being very average with characters that are so one dimensional that the audience just can't feel for bad for them despite the things they go through. The only marginally interesting storyline is that of the mother.
6.5/10
Also WTF why did someone bring a baby into the screening??? On one of the occassions the father walked out with the baby he tripped over something and nearly fell down, squashing the kid
I also had a guy next to me who was just grunting and fidgeting the entire time, ugh.

Re: Jeff Who Lives At Home
Two points - Thought the slacker club was students only? I know it is possible students can be fathers but then my second point is isn't this film a 15 and so the baby is way too young to be in the screen?canadian_turtle wrote:Also WTF why did someone bring a baby into the screening??? Re: Jeff Who Lives At Home
I forgot to mention this, only 25% of the audience looked like students, there were many people there looking older than me!
I didn't realise this film was a 15 though? There's no sex or violence, some mediocre swearing though and smoking of pot, that's it.

Re: Jeff Who Lives At Home
Hmmmmmm, I'm rushing back from a weekend away to see this on Monday night.............doesn't appear to be worth the effort!
Re: Jeff Who Lives At Home
Here's this Slacker's tuppence worth:
I kinda enjoyed this. It doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. It is a quirky but interesting movie with only one or two laugh out loud bits. The students laughed a lot more than I did, but I was laughing inside. It is one of these movies that follow a series of consequences and it all comes together nicely at the end. Jeff looks so like my cousin (but I could never tell him this!).
I'd recommend this if you like a light-hearted movie that flows nicely without relying on violence or gross-out slapstick comedy.
Quirky but fun.
The movie got a round of applause at the end - a whole audience must have enjoyed.
6/10
Why on earth would a couple enter the movie after 1 hour then proceed to push their way past to sit at the far end of a row? I HAD to voice my dim opinion of this to them. (Victor Meldrew eat your heart out!)
