Re: Dark Shadows
The trailer looks suitably quirky. Don't think it looks like it will be a big hit and to everyone's taste but should be fun.

Re: Dark Shadows
I want to see this because of the cast but honestly it doesn't seem that good and I've been wary of Tim Burton since Alice In Wonderland aka the worst film I've ever seen

Re: Dark Shadows
he is a weak film director, but he has a fearsome imagination. I suspect sometimes he finds it hard to marry his visual ideas with reality because they are odd. I think he is better when he is given Carte Blanche over the entire film's contents, as with an animation or CGI. Corpse Bride is one of his best.

Re: Dark Shadows
I'd come across quite a few reviews deeming Dark Shadows awful, I have an unexplainable dislike for Helena Bonham Carter and I didn't enjoy Burton and Depp's most recent ventures (Alice in Wonderland, Sweeney Todd), but this film spiked my interest because of its groovy popart styled posters and the fact it has got Chloe Moretz (as she's awesome) and I actually really liked it!
It was visually stunning and imaginative (but then, that is to be expected from Burton I suppose) and I very much enjoyed the strange storyline and characters. Over the top quirky, yes, but I just went along with the ride and loved being immersed into this wacky world for the better part of 2 hours.
7.5/10

Re: Dark Shadows
While I didn't think this was brilliant, it wasn't as bad as the reviews had suggested. It is too long and some of the jokes fall flat, but the wackiness and weirdness of Tim Burton's imagination provides some interesting escapism. The jaunty soundtrack is a special bonus. 6/10.

Re: Dark Shadows
My daughter really wants to see this but a bit unsure as she is usually ok with 12 certificate films but is there a lot of adult humour? I honestly think the last decent Burton/Depp film was Sleepy Hollow.

Re: Dark Shadows
Sleepy Hollow wasnt even all that.
I thought Alice was a nice special effects fest, but nothing much more. This film sounds more like a proper story from what the others have said.
