Re: The Dictator
We got there so early and then they didn't even open the balcony (only for VIPs apparently)! Had to sit with the plebs (and Mr G and cliveas) and watch the excruciatingly boring red carpet footage. I did however spot soonforgotten walk the red carpet at shortly before 7pm (I am pretty sure it was him anyway). Apart from him, it was all Z celebs and Mohammed Al-Fayed. There was Russell Kane, Louie Spence, Craig Revel Horwood, Nick Knowles and some people who looked like straight out of TOWIE or thereabouts. Film only started at 7.22pm but was over already 80 minutes later! I might have missed out on some after-credit scenes as Alex Zane spoke to an actor before about a scene at the end and I don't rememember seeing it. So was there anything after "Are you having a boy or an abortion?"
Of course, it was typical Sacha Baron Cohen fare, but I thought, as much as you can say that with him, that it was kind of toned down and less outrageous than Bruno. It was still very funny and yes, there was some gross out stuff, like the scene when the woman gives birth. The "why not have America as a dictatorship" scene was pretty sharp satire though, and even though I may be in a minority, I don't find under-arm hair gross. OH was so immersed in the film that he never drank his Dr Pepper and proclaimed the film "very interesting" afterwards.
7.5/10

Re: The Dictator
we were actually lucky at Vue West End, the film started at 6.55pm; there was indeed several scenes during the credits (impro (?), outtakes and deleted/alternate scenes)

Re: The Dictator
Quite good actually. Much better than my low expectations (which was a re-hashed Middle Eastern Borat).

Re: The Dictator
LOL Might that be actors from Skins? They were sitting in front of us (I do not know them, this had to be pointed out to me).Beate wrote:Apart from him, it was all Z celebs and Mohammed Al-Fayed. Re: The Dictator
I believe they are from Geordie Shore, only know cause my bf told mesome people who looked like straight out of TOWIE

That has got to be the second movie(after 21 jump street) that has had me in constant fits of laughter for pretty much the entire movie, so crude, so daring and hilarious!
And yes there were a few extra scenes/outtakes after the 'boy or abortion' gag Beate^^
9/10!
