Yep, the foyer was so thronged with people that I don't even know whether there was any free food or drink there but I can usually sniff that out from miles away so I don't think so and the stuff at the entrance was the only free stuff. Jeancomp, that's why I always take a pair of earplugs to screenings, I am cursed with too good hearing! The only good thing is that the kids didn't seem very disruptive in this screening, they were probably all asleep too (except Rainey's).

Agree about the 3D, and the technology update (all those computers, mobiles and other gadgets in the film) smacked a bit of desperation. The jokes were terribly unfunny and laboured ("I looked up Handsome in the phone book then called them and asked them for you"). As EthanRunt said someplace else: "Don't bother". I am beginning to think my 5/10 were too generous.

Rainey accurately described the film on the way out of the screen: "painful to watch."

Boring, unfunny and crap 3D. A snoozefest! 3/10.

Quite proud that I didn't fall asleep but that was mainly because the volume of the film was so sky high (as was The Dictator also in Screen 5 of Vue West End earlier in the week). Boring, unfunny and why did they bother with 3D -- that was so useless.

A large group of FMUKers were the highlight of morning for me.

I sense a good future opportunity to switch screens coming.

Though I will probably watch most of it. I love Top Cat. Gee, TC!

canadian_turtle wrote:Very nice to see so many FMUK-ers; funthing29, celini, jeancomp, tilly, valda, beate, ethanrunt, prettyxcool (and I am sure I am forgetting a few, my apologies!).

As for the film: I loved how the style of drawing didn't seem to have been updated from the original animation, it's nice to not see an overly computer animated cartoon for once. The story was simplistic and the gags maybe outdated (although the whole technology bit and cellphones etc was of course new - though it was funny in that respect how Officer Dibble still reached for the street phone first like in the original series) but it entertained me and even made me laugh a few times.

The 3D was shit though and should not have been used. Especially in the safe it looked awful (character floating behind money) and whenever something was standing on a table it didn't look to be touching the table either.

Still, 7/10 from me.

Highly disappointed though by the lack of cakes at the fun in the foyer. But I got a green screen pic, so suppose I can't complain.
It was manic and I didn't see any familiar faces  but I was a little pre occupied with the little ones, who were not very impressed with the so called fun in the foyer and as for the film, my daughter fell asleep and my hubby and I left early with my grandson as he was bored :( Somehow my granddaughter managed to stay awake and watch the film to the end but I would not want to rate the film as it would be a minus rating.

Matt Turner tweeted a pic of a giant Top Cat which we thankfully missed: http://twitpic.com/9kl8jf

I thought the film was played at normal volume. Am I going deaf? Why are you all moving lips, but no sound?

no problem with the sound in our row either... maybe the issue is when one sits further back?
The giant TC was in the lobby Beate; I am guessing you just ran past :giggle:

What about the eclipse? (what eclipse?)
