Yes, well done Diane65 and Preston1990. Good thing some of you are sticking to the straight and narrow as I'm having a lapsing week: chocolate on Monday and now a large muffin, followed by a pizza. I must be taking refuge in comfort food but shall aim to leap back on the wagon tomorrow.

Re: Weight Watchers
Thanks for the continued encouragement people.
What an excellent result Diane - I'm really pleased for you, you clever thing! A few more weeks at that rate and you'll be finished!!
You've certainly done some seriously brisk walking and training to your DVD this past week and it's really starting to p*y off bigtime for you now.
My walk in the countryside today turned out to be a bit of a shambles.
My friend had to get back home early to do some stuff this afternoon, so we didn't have as long as we had originally planned. As if that wasn't bad enough the time we did have was further eroded as it took an hour to get there and a hour back in his car (a 2cv - very enjoyable and entertaining but quite slow). That only left us around 2 hours which when you took time out for a coffee and lunch left us only about 90 mins of actual walking time. Not much out of a four hour slot.
I reckon we probably only did a disappointing 2.5 to 3 miles. Although some of the walk involved some fairly steep climbs and descents it wasn't anywhere near as long or as strenuous as I would have wished for.
Certainly not in the same league as last week's.
I tried to make up for it a bit by doing gardening for 4 hours this afternoon when I got back. Front and back lawns are now cut and looking splendid if I say so myself. If the weather stays reasonable tomorrow and my hedge trimmer behaves itself and actually starts for once, I may do a bit of cutting back and bagging up which is good exercise and worth a few brownie points with Mrs Preston.
I'm going to do either the bike or the rower for a half hour or so later on tonight to get a bit more exercise in.
Todays meals:
Fresh Black Coffee. 12 cals
Lots of Water.
2 weetabix (got new supplies last night), Blueberries, Half an apple chopped up, Semi-skimmed milk. 320 cals
Salad Leaves, Feta cheese, black and green olives, cherry tomatoes, red onion, Olive oil and lemon dressing. - circa 430 cals
Pre-packed Supermarket Tuna Mayo and Sweetcorn Sandwich - 417 cals!!
3 Satsumas. 110 cals
Toast and Marmite. Earl Grey Tea (Lemon Slice). 270 cals
Roughly how long does one of your 2 mile brisk walks take you Diane if you don't mind me asking?

Re: Weight Watchers
Thanks so much to everyone for your kind words
but she was a brilliant dermatologist so well worth making the effort to go.
You did well on your walk I know you had planned a longer walk but don't be disappointed as you have more than made up with your gardening
Hows everyone else doing?
Of course I don't mind - it takes me about 25 minutes to do 2 miles on the flat (longer mile/minute ratio if walking further). I did about 2 1/2 miles tonight which took 35 minutes (2 laps of Chorlton Water Park) I was very warm during my lecture (I went straight from my walk) which went on until 9.40pmPreston1990 wrote:Roughly how long does one of your 2 mile brisk walks take you Diane if you don't mind me asking?
It will take a lot more than a few weeks to lose another 22lb but I love your positivityPreston1990 wrote:A few more weeks at that rate and you'll be finished!!

Re: Weight Watchers
I'm really liking your healthy yet tasty meal choices today Diane.
And....thanks for the info regarding how long it takes you to walk a mile. That just confirms to me what I already suspected - I really am the worlds slowest walker!
Never mind I have a new strategy
Instead of wasting time driving for miles before I start my walks I'm going to just step out of my front door and walk from home. I'm going to set off and walk for 30 mins, turn around and then come back. I'll walk the same route each day and use Google Maps to calculate the distance I've covered. Hopefully the distance I cover will increase with time as my fitness level builds, and seeing where I actually am when I turn around should spur me on. It's a plan anyway - I'll report back how I get on - the embarrassment of seeming so pathetic in comparison to you other real walkers will keep me going!
Went off the rails big time last night and indulged myself in a serious toast and marmite eating frenzy. I went at it like a man possessed.
Ah well, what's done is done! Today, I will try and maintain more self control.

Re: Weight Watchers
That's what I do, Preston. I either walk a route I know, instead of taking the bus (I live in London, so it's not picturesque!) or I set an alarm on my phone and just walk around the block (it's a big block!) trying to beat my own record every time! I've also tried going down streets I've never been before to see where I end up, but in London, this can prove dodgy!! Also, I'm not very good at finding my way back again!!Preston1990 wrote:Instead of wasting time driving for miles before I start my walks I'm going to just step out of my front door and walk from home.

Re: Weight Watchers
Fell of the "keep my carbs lower" diet yesterday as had been at friends and didn't want to bore them with it all so just ate.
Off for a swim now before I weigh myself tomorrow.
