Re: The Angels' Share
Loved it too, the Story is about a young man's journey there is a subtle political message throughout the film it's about how poverty environment upbringing and circumstance can impact on a young man and his opportunities or lack of, strongly masked by humor all the way, Ken Loach got the perfect balance here i was certainly on an emotional journey with the main character and i laughed my way through most of it, great wee Scottish comedy in very typical Ken Loach style highly recommend anyone go see it when they get the chance :) for me it's definitely one of the better Scottish films of recent times x
10/10 from me
As teddybear stated Gary Maitland stole the show
It was great to see MG there aswell

Re: The Angels' Share
What a great night!
First of all, we were told to walk along the red carpet with the "beautiful people" and all the media lined at one end. . . there were so many beautiful dresses on display. Ken Loach was there along with all the cast and spoke prior to the screening.
The film was absolutely brilliant . . . a mix of violence, poverty, "enterprise" and fun.
By far the best film I've seen this year and I would be more than happy to p*y to watch it again!
10 minute standing ovation given at the end of film!
As we left the screening, I saw Ken Loach standing speaking to one of the other actors and I just walked over and shook his hand and the actor and told them how wonderful the film was! They very kindly chatted to my friend and I
Great to meet up with cheeksdevil and teddybear1 & OH . . . seats were allocated but we were sitting in the same row!
Marks 10/10

Re: The Angels' Share
I saw this tonight in Didsbury and thought it was excellent. Albert in particular was hilarious.
A perfect blend of grit and humour, Ken Loach really is on top form at the moment after the recent Looking for Eric.
Sorry to dash off before catching up with FMUK North, but OH was a bit under the weather.
Hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did.

Re: The Angels' Share
I thought this was fantastic. Such a heartfelt story with the perfect mixture of humour and drama. The acting was first class and there is a strong message here. Great characters, great script, great direction and I loved the song playing over the end credits.
My only criticism is that the Scottish accents are very strong and the dialogue was a bit difficult to understand in some parts. 9/10.

Re: The Angels' Share
It was oversubscribed and some people got turned away. The guy next to me walked out after 30 minutes.
