I loved this film and had been looking forward to seeing it since I heard about it 6 months ago. I found it exhilarating, exciting and inspiring. I liked the fact that it did not go into the real hardship and struggles these men would have faced getting to become and being fighter pilots and focused more on their shear passion and skills they had for the job they loved to do.
It's a 9/10 for me.

I saw this yesterday and went in with high expectations and wasn't disappointed.

I did feel there was something missing, something that makes you connect more to the characters but the storyline was still good. I wish we'd gotten to explore more of the characters backgrounds, but obviously that would mean the movie would be even longer.

I really enjoyed the movie and hoping to see it again after exams.

8.5/10

I thnk the idea of a mini series would have been better. I really wanted to know what they did to actually get that far.

A couple of thing that irked me, was the way they were talking and behaving, it is supposed to be 1930's not present day. The other thing, correct me if I'm wrong, but surely the phrase 'bogeys all over us' is modern pilot talk

I was at the Odeon West End yesterday too, disappointed that there was actually no breakfast, healthy or otherwise, as I was waiting for my ticket to go in, I overheard the lady giving out the laminated tickets saying to a group going in that there is a "healthy breakfast". Beate and I looked everywhere! The Jazz singer was the only thing there livening up the event, he was friendly and offering a poster which actually when opened up contained inside, instructions to make a paper airplane. ;)

The film was much better than I expected. Do not normally like war films, but the flight scenes were really exciting and I thought the black men were really hot! I really liked the Colonel, what a great motivator he is, but did feel the characters were quite stereotyped, the dialogue was a bit cheesy and the romance seemed out of place, although the scene with the mum was quite funny and also the language barrier scenes. 7/10

I have tickets to this but I think I might give them to my parents. I'm not a fan of war movies, I find them really boring.

Good to see ex-Wire characters Michael and Bubbles in a major movie.

I found this thoroughly entertaining and interesting despite being slightly corny and having somewhat two dimensional characters, I half expected the German pilots to twiddle their moustaches and cackle evilly at some points. But I got swept up in it and was rooting for the Red Tails by the end.

I agree with whoever said a mini series may have served the story better and it's interesting that even the might of George Lucas struggled to get this movie off the ground (pun intended) :D

Also, did anyone else who went to Manchester tonight think the film was out of focus at times?
