Maybe it is something too sinful to mention? Since Diane65 usually regales us with a virtuous table of fare, I'm wondering whether the omission is significant! Or maybe she has been cowed by the sudden emergence in our midst of a triathlete!

Now Preston1990, if only you had a tandem, or trailer to attach to your bike, some of us could add to your load and let you do all the work, thus increasing your energy expenditure. What do you think?

I don't know MsT - I'm thinking it's more likely to be the former rather than the latter. I have heard that those carvery places have started doing breakfasts though so that could be it .......or........

Oh no!! .....You dont think she's working her way through those 200 Cadbury Creme Eggs that she was talking of b*ying the other day, do you? :wall:

Hmm...... let me think!! .....What do I think?....... Errr Yes, it's coming to me..... and I have it now! ;) ........ I think that my fat, bloated, old and weak body struggles to propel itself along the road as is, without any other kind souls offering to add to my load no matter how well intentioned they may be.

Sincere thanks for the offer though! :shifty: o/

I believe you went for a walk yesterday MsT. How did that go? I bet it was warm?

It's a weird day today due to loads of staff being off with stress I am now working 1 until 7pm today to cover etc hence the late posting. I would hate to do this shift on a permanent basis as I'm ready and raring to go now.
I'm here now with my menu of the day:
Special K clusters with milk (300 calories)
Garlic sausage, rocket and tomato sandwich for lunch (300 calories) weight watchers fromage frais and an apple (100 calories)
Vegetable kebab with peppers, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes - I b*ght way too much (250 calories) Fresh pineapple and coconut yoghurt (150 calories)
Skinny Cow ice lolly (90 calories)

I will do a 4 mile walk this evening. I keep on laughing about MsThrifty's post I have visions of me (a heavy load) sat in a trailer and Preston peddling like mad in his fetching shorts :rofl2:

Gosh Diane65, I wonder how you will have time to eat or drink anything with all that extra work. But how admirable that you still intend to stick to your healthy eating plan, as some people wouldn't plan as you do for that sort of eventuality and would end up snatching junk in an odd moment.

As for those fetching shorts of Preston1990's, all they seem to be fetching him so far is (unjust) jibes and insults! Of course I haven't had the benefit - nay, pleasure - of seeing him thus attired and am wondering if you have stolen a march on me there, Diane? He does paint a plaintive picture but I suspect he is pulling the wool over our eyes. He is probably whizzing around like a rocket with a lucrative payload and doesn't want to let on in case one of us shops him to HMRC.

In view of the fate of my walk yesterday (blasted boots were more like torture chambers), perhaps I had better stop teasing Preston and follow his example by taking to a bike myself...

MsT - I'm shocked! 8O

Can you explain exactly what you meant by the phrase "like a rocket with a lucrative payload"

No, on second thoughts you'd better not. :nono:

Are these new boots that you are having probs with then MsT?

Hey 65! You need to be having a few more calories than that, unless you really are sneaking some CCEs as well!

And I'm loving the name of your ice lollies - I was trying to think of a joke involving them but nothing obvious springs to mind ;)

Old new boots, actually. Nothing matches my beloved Hanwags, of which I have 3 very ancient and well-worn pairs, but that model is no longer available and Hanwags of any type are hard to obtain here. I have easily £600+ worth of uncomfortable/unsuitable "new" boots from other manufacturers - you name them, I probably have a useless pair of their evil boots: Asolo, Berghaus, Meindl, Zamberlan, etc. Literally a sore point, which may yet mean me taking up cycling. So watch your back, Preston!

You have my sympathy re the boots MsT - there's nothing worse than pain to kill the urge to walk! :(

You're probably aware of all the ones for sale on Amazon Uk - must be a different model that you are after I guess.

Is there no end to your talents, Preston1990? I take it we are to assume that you even sing as you cycle!

♫ ♫ ♫

......"Raindrops keep falling on my head
And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed
Nothin' seems to fit
Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling

So I just did me some talkin' to the sun
And I said I didn't like the way he' got things done
Sleepin' on the job
Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling

But there's one thing I know
The blues he sends to meet me won't defeat me
It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me

Raindrops keep falling on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red
Crying's not for me
Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothing's worrying me"
