It's Nolan, how dare you doubt him! ;)
To be fair though it has some grounds:

Blade 3, X-men 3, Spider-man 3.

Comic Book movie 3 really is a curse and Batman 3 may be joining it if the trend continues

Nolan has never made a bad movie yet! That magician one was a bit ponderous but it was gripping.

*gasp* The Prestige was brilliant! His weakest is Insomnia, far and away.

Whilst I think it was unnecessary to reboot the Spider-man franchise, I did still enjoy this. It is a darker interpretation of the story when compared with Raimi's version. I preferred Andrew Garfield to Tobey Maguire since his teenage angst was explored more and he seemed more of a vigilante than a hero for most of the film. My main criticism was that the 3D was mostly pointless and the film could have used some more action sequences. It is not as fun or thrilling as Avengers Assemble but it is stronger than some other superhero films such as Iron Man 2 and Captain America. 8/10.

People keep saying this and i heard from a friend that he thought it lacked some "wow" moments. To be honest i disagree. I found it refreshing that the action was sparse as instead of going external and bombastic, they kept it relatively internal and explored the characters and emotions alot deeper and better IMO. Especially after Ben dies and they give Flash some humanity, which really made me connect to the film alot more. It was very refreshing and kept me hooked just as much as a good action set piece does

Completely agree, TheOnes. The emotional aspect made PP a very human superhero (I know he's not the only "human" superhero but their humanity often get lost in the fancy suits, gadgets and over the top action sequences). It was refreshing and the very reason I probably connected with it so well.

Actually, this is a very good point. Sometimes in these type of movies, the action can be non-sensical and not really fit into the message the director may want to get across about the characters. Think this is what they tried to do with Ang Lee's Hulk although that movie was just pants.

I actually found some of the action sequences in Spiderman quite fast, and at times difficult to follow. Not sure if this had anything to do with my seat (4/5th from the front on the side).
