Re: Cosmopolis
I attended last night's Curzon screening with the Cronenberg & Pattinson Q&A. Audio recorded it, so if anyone wants to hear what went down, I've got it up here: http://londonfilmfanatiq.com/2012/06/02/cosmopolis-qa/
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

can't wait to see this film, hope there are some previews, though it's not looking likely is it? at such short notice.

Here's my take on Cosmopolis: http://londonfilmfanatiq.com/2012/06/12/cosmopolis/
I probably should have been more ambiguous, in keeping with the film.

Re: Cosmopolis
WELL..... this was such hard work and many people walked out really early, which i thought was a bit stupid but then it was HARD work and lots of the people leaving were youngish girls who didn't want to hear RPATTZ talking about asymmetrical prostates! lol
Those who stayed were rewarded though it's a very clever film, amazingly shot, really different and certainly a far cry from Edward Cullen, how refreshing.
Cronenburg has asked Pattinson to work on another film with him soon so watch this space (he has another 2 films already shceduled before then though so it may be some time before we get more of this magic.)
WARNING: don't go see this if you're tired.

Re: Cosmopolis
This film put a smile on my face from beginning to end!
I understand that the lengthy (non nonsensical for most of us (?)) dialogues, mostly taking place in the limo, can/will/had put people off but do stick around for everything that happens out of the car and you're in for a treat!
It's indeed when Eric is out of his car that the film comes alive; some priceless confrontations (Giamatti should get a supporting actor nod, please!) and gorgeous shots.
I liked it.
8.5/10

Re: Cosmopolis
I am not sure how to express my thoughts after seeing this. It is certainly a more intelligent film than most and it definitely wont be to everyone's tastes. It kept me on the edge of my seat at the end and I was left intrigued. It does have a lengthy set up and this proved too much for some members of the audience (there were 2 walkouts in my screening) but it does find its momentum in the final act. 7/10.

Re: Cosmopolis
It is a weird and intriguing film and I understand why some would hate this film. I didn't but it doesn't endear itself easily to the viewer.
I did wonder if he was ill and "going to the barber" was a euphemism even when he was actually there!
It was all very odd and some of the disjointed scenes had me scratching my head.
I did jump at the gun shot scene involving his bodyguard but not as much as the woman seated behind me who made very audible sounds whenever a gun was fired!
A thought-provoking film.
