You weren't the only one. I was laughing throughout and I wasn't the only one in my row. The 3 or 4 people I spoke to afterwards all found it funny and we were trading favourite bits. I wonder how many will post on here.

I also enjoyed playing spot the film homage. Also I think it could start off a whole new game of award nomination categories. I will start by nominating it for best [spoiler]fight between a man and a bear[/spoiler]and best [spoiler]act of violence by an adult on a child[/spoiler]!

Robert Downey JR already did that in Due Date. And that was a funnier movie too (imho).

Great to see so many lovely FMUKers after so long away. Disappointed by the film though. Agree with those who said it traded a chance to create a sweet and heartfelt story for puerile and rather dull humour. Has everyone seen Flash Gordon or was I the only one missing out on why all of that was supposed to be funny? Thought that joke was far too long for something not everyone would really understand/have any attachment to.

I saw it maybe about 25 years ago and all I took away was 1) it had an awesome title track by Queen, 2) cheesy special effects and 3) laughable acting...and yet I remember enjoying it, in a Mystery Science Theater sort of manner. I guess Seth thought it would be ironic and therefore funny to have his 2 main characters worship a bad movie rather than something common like Star Wars or Indiana Jones (even though both were referenced).

Or maybe Seth is just a closet fan himself & was looking for an excuse to get [spoiler]Sam Jones to cameo :D
Mind you, I thought Sam's scenes were the funniest in the movie.
Reminded me of Neil Patrick Harris in 'Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle'[/spoiler]

I, too, was at the screening last night (think I saw Beate in the loos afterwards, but wasn't really the right place to say hi!).

Saw this with OH who was very excited about it, and he definitely loved it. Lots of laughs and he would have given it a 9/10 rather than 8-8.5/10 if the trailer hadn't had some of the best laughs, but given how much he laughed, I think it was a winner for him.

My view, was that it was good, some of the laughs were a bit too gross for me (OMG the carpet incident.... WHO DOES THAT???!!!! No, what kind of person even THINKS of that!?) but overall quite good. Not that fussed to see it again though.

I haven't seen Flash Gordon, but I thought all that was v funny, based on the fact that it was quite clearly a terrible film... we all have terrible films etc from our past that are special to us, don't we?! Am looking forward to actually watching the DVD - a very funny touch.

The premise that nobody is fazed by a talking, living teddy bear is ridiculous but adds to the hilarity and the joy of this film. Granted that there were a lot of swearing, drug use, casual racism and various stereotypes that could be offensive to some people, but it is not a film to be taken seriously, and I did not, and I found it quite hilarious! I really enjoyed it and it looked like the cast had a lot of fun making it. I thought the teddy animation was excellent. I was really hoping for a "Ted" but we got the Flash DVD instead! 8/10

It was great to see and catch up with so many FMUKers at Vue West End yesterday! And lovely to come out to a warm summer's evening - at last!

I enjoyed this well enough in the moment, despite it being obviously cruel. However, I don't think this is a film I'd enjoy much on a second viewing as the plot is paper-thin and the surprises are fun initially but don't add a lot beyond simply occurring. Not a bad comedy, but it is nothing special at all.
