Lol...I forgot all about X-Men 3. I didn't hate that one either, but I do consider it to be the weakest of the series - purely based on how epically they screwed up the Phoenix Saga.

Oh wait, Wolverine was a little worse.

SM3 needs a proper directors cut to get rid of the gumf. Still it was great fun to see Venom.

No, this film wasn't needed. The Spiderman franchise did not really need a reboot the same way other superhero franchises did. The TM films are strong enough films.
That being said, this film was fun. It mixed different elements well and everyone in the screening I was in was entertained. So it served its purpose, and set the scene for the upcoming sequels, which I look forward to watching.

Before seeing the film, thought it was way too early for a reboot. But after seeing it, I changed my mind.

Thought they did a good job of keeping the important parts in there, while some changes in the storyline made it fresh not just a complete copy of previous films.

Enjoyed it, overall a thought it was a good film.

I was very tempted to go see this at the IMAX today but I think I will refrain and wait for the DVD instead.

Saw this film a few weeks ago. I've never really been a fan of the other Spiderman movies, i've only ever seen bits and pieces of them, although I think i've seen all of the first one. I wasn't really expecting too much from the film, but it was a lot better than I expected it to be. Andrew Garfield was perfectly cast as Spiderman. The 3D was also better than expected, and was better than the 3D in The Avengers. I found some parts of the film to be cheesy, like when Spiderman would talk to the villians as he would run up the walls, but all in all, it was a pretty good film. I'd score it a 3.5/5!

mm I do hope they focus on villains not covered by Sam Raimi in the sequels, I dont want to see a rehash of the Green Goblin, Ock or Sandman.

yeah thatsd what im hoping, although I would welcome a rehash of venom, rumours are he mnight be getting his own film, so itd be a perfect moment to get him back out there, but im talking the marvel universe version of venom, not the balls version they used in the previous trilogy!
