Ben's still in the running for sure...and I think Rory has a really strong voice but there is just NOT ENOUGH emotional connection which is off-putting. Poor Nathan seems to be getting a wee too much personal critique now...he is a good and very consistent performer but every night they are hammering home what an arrogant shit he is. I do believe that he's a bit full of himself...but I think it's all getting a bit 'baity' and cruel.

I'm beginning to become rather irked by Tim because his story all seems a bit woe-is-me and I just cannot visualise him as Jesus AT ALL. I feel awful saying it, but his general manner and the way he over emotes really pisses me off. When he choked during the sing-off last night I actually did this,   hmmm. He also looks like a Victorian mad man...

David is a firm favourite now, even though he looks remarkably like a Nick Park creation. More cheese Gromit?
I'm still very fond of Ben! But Rory and David are definitely growing on me. As well as Jon, surprisingly.
Ooops, I sent my reply to you as a PM. :wall: Sorry.

Agree with you on Tim (though I didn't see the sing off as I only got home at 9.30, after the first solo performance). As for Nathan, I think they're hammering on about it as he has a good chance to win and they don't want to continue working with him if he's still so arrogant, so he has to learn to change... quickly!

Also forgot to say: Love how 3 out of the first 4 performances were songs from the Rock of Ages musical! I wonder how much (if any) this has to do with the fact that the ROA director is also the Superstar director (or maybe they just really missed Oliver Tompsett, a contestant in the final 30 who had to drop out due to his contract for ROA still being ongoing, hehe).

I haven't seen it yet (I do know the result) as I was at TDKR last night. It does seem that whoever is in the bottom 2 one night but gets saved, is then voted off the next night (it happened to Dirk and Tim), which doesn't bode well for David!

Well it's a relief that you already know the result...I must remember to use that spoiler button.

I think David pulled it out of the bag last night and if he's in the bottom 2 tonight I'm boycotting the rest of the show (not really).

I was also surprised to hear it was David actually. I was counting on Jeff or even Jon (despite the fact that he's really grown) to be in the bottom 2.

Jeff seems to be singing in the last 2 or 3 performers every night. I have a feeling that the producers may be favouring him as it is apparent in all of these shows that if you are singing towards the end of the main performances you tend to progress....

canadian_turtle...John is progressing really nicely, but they need to work on his weak falsetto because it's actually ruining his performances for me. I think he has a lovely voice and a real presence about him and everybody loves an underdog.

You have a very valid point, and it's something I've noticed as well...but I think Rory is definitely the chosen one as far as ALW is concerned.

I was a bit :shifty: when he said "you have it in the bag" after his performance last night, hmm.

I went to see The Dark Knight Rises (pa*d...the OH couldn't wait)...I have to say I sat there all knotted for the first 30 mins and felt pretty emotional by the end of it thinking about what that b*st*rd did.

On the upside, it was a pretty good film! o/
