Today's bike ride turned into a bit of an ordeal. Was far too long (around 25 miles), far too hilly, far too exhausting. Four hours non-stop in unremarkable surroundings - My fault and a very poor choice of route with hindsight! My mate was seriously naffed off with me (only two of us today) - he was in full winging and sulking mode up one seriously steep incline ;) :p

Looking on the bright side - it must have been good exercise as I'm now aching all over - where's that Radox - I'll be having a good old soak in the bath later on to ease my aching muscles.

I think I may have spotted Rawr, on her way back home from the shops to feed Fudge and Cake, on my travels today.

Today's Meals:

1) Two Weetabix, The last of the Raspberries, skimmed milk, mixed fruit cake ingredients.

2) Salad with assorted leaves, avocado, red and green peppers, fresh raw unpodded peas, radishes, cherry tomatoes, brie, pesto, red onion, spring onion.

3) Fresh Honeydew and Cantaloupe Melon chunks, grapes, pineapple. o/ Cinnamon swirl Danish pastry thing. :nono: It was a gift, so it would have seemed ungrateful to refuse.

4) Jacket potato with cottage cheese and pineapple.

5) My good old vegetable Curry :wall: Why did I make so much? Why will no-one else eat it, and why is the freezer packed so full that I can't stash some of it in there?

I'm off for a lie down and a rest, this retirement malarkey can be hard work! :D

You do look that good with or without Christian Bale ;)

Good luck with the weigh in Biggins and I hope that you've had a lovely break o/
I had the most delicious coffee and walnut cake for my treat last night so I'm still living on the memories of it :D

Menu of the day:
Fruit and fibre and a black coffee (300 calories)
4 ryvita with a banana on them followed by a weight watchers lemon and lime mousse (300 calories)
Jacket potato with cottage cheese and pineapple and a large salad (400 calories as a large potato) so filling I don't want anything after it.
Go ahead cereal bar and an apple as snacks (200 calories)

My exercise DVD as exercise of the day. I'll be ordering my ripcords later and see if they'll drop the postage charge but I'm not as smooth talking as MrG.

I will be off work after today until Monday lunch time after today and no commitments whatsoever (apart from housework, ironing and cooking which I'm fine with) so loads of time for extra exercise. I'm accruing way too much leave/flexi I've got over 5 weeks left - I know its fab really but trying to fit it in is the hard part as we all help each other out covering for each other.

Have a fun day everyone.

Where is everyone? I know that Biggins has been away but as for everyone else

Menu of the day:
Smoothie with a large banana and strawberries (300 calories)
Weight watchers quiche, salad and a weight watchers rich chocolate dessert (350 calories)
http://www.bhf.org.uk/heart-matters-onl ... iches.aspx (350 calories - I'm having a quarter of it as a main meal not a sixth as suggested)
A 200ml glass of milk and 3 chocolates (milka strawberry - a gift from a friend and they are heaven on a plate but you have to just let them melt in your mouth :D ) (200 calories)

Its a beautiful day (almost autumnal) so will be heading off for a walk shortly.

I'm going to b*y some new undergarments today as my present ones are too large (I never thought that it was going to happen so I'm very happy o/ )

Have a fun day o/

Had a lovely time although the weather wasn't great. Horrendous driving conditions getting there on Wednesday as it was flooded roads everywhere.

Managed to get out and about between the rain and had a swim in the indoor pool both days. Just as well I did some exercise as the food was lovely and I indulged more than I should have. Full cooked breakfast and a delicious blueberry muffin each morning (too hard to resist  ) A three course meal at night with wine. Sandwich lunch!! Just weighted myself and it wasn't as bad as I feared - I have put on a lb - so that is the lb I lost last week found again!!!

So will not beat myself up about it as I know I would do it again as temptation is there at every turn and you think - well I am p*ying for this so I'll enjoy it!

Will try to be extra good this week to make up for it. :cross:

Have a great day Diane looking for smaller clothes is a great incentive. o/

Have a good weekend everyone.

Hey, that's great news Diane! Now that really is motivating, as Biggins says choosing new clothes - what better incentive and reward for losing weight. Well done!

In a similar vein, I've just put my third new belt hole in my old trusty jeans belt and am now wearing jeans that are 4" smaller on the waist than when I started here 3 months ago. The best thing for me though is that I feel so much fitter, more agile and invigorated. I've still a way to go yet but at least it's a start.

Great to hear that you had a nice time whilst you were away Biggins and that you managed to make good use of the hotel's swimming facilities. I think that you've done really well by just putting a pound on whilst enjoying the nice food. It's only sensible to take advantage when you can - as you say, now that you are back home you can concentrate on losing weight again!

It looks as if we may be about to get a bout of good weather at last - fingers crossed! :cross: Allways a great incentive to get out and about and do more exercise.

Todays Meals:

1) Two Weetabix with ice cold skimmed milk.

2) Tuna, red pepper, and black olive stuffed jacket potato with side salad.

3) Piperade.

4) Tea, toast and pate.

Today's Exercise:

1) A 2 or 3 mile walk in the sunshine with my lovely wife! :D

I've decided to have a change of Avatar pic. This one shows Nell Gwyn in her new undergarments handing out fruit in the theatre. I'm not sure what made me think about her today! ;)

Well done from me too Biggins it would be a shame to go away and not enjoy yourself plus blueberry muffins have loads of vitamin C (we won't mention the other bits) and you did use the swimming pool so its all good o/

Well done Preston on going down 3 notches on your belt it really is a good feeling I remember Biggins saying that she slipped into some trousers, its much nicer than trying to shove all my body into clothes when basically I have had too much of my body but ashamed to get the next size up - I don't want to be going there again :nono: I actually got a size 12 top, a medium size cardigan and I've have gone down one cup size (I know that's not a lot but its a miracle to me  ) this may seem large to some people but its good for me, I will still have to b*y a 14 in many things but there is hope :cross:

Menu of the day:
Smoothie with a banana and strawberries and a black coffee (250 calories)
Garlic sausage and salad on a pitta bread and a apricot yoghurt (300 calories)
Vegetable kebabs with sweet chilli sauce (300 calories)
Bananas and low calorie custard - Tesco's own in a packet is fewer calories that weight watchers (150 calories)
Cereal bar (150 calories)
Cadburys Options (50 calories)

Exercise DVD as exercise of the day.

Preston please can I have your Piperade recipe? I have got loads of Veg in and it looks lovely. Good luck with your weigh in Valda o/ Have a happy and healthy day everyone.

Well done Preston - three notches on your belt - you'll fade away soon! :p

Great Diane getting into a size 12 top o/ I think it was in the 60's when I last could get into a size 12 - not now that I am in my 60's! ;) I am a size 16 but hoping to go down to a 14 which would make me very happy - even if I had to spend a fortune on new clothes.

Had a bacon roll and cup of tea this morning and will have another cup of tea and a yoghurt about 1o'clock and then going over to Fife to have a meal tonight with my youngest daughter and her hubby and the two granddaughters. She will probably have a sunday joint but will just watch the roast potatoes and not pile my plate. :cross:

Have a good day. o/

I would like to say WELL DONE to everybody, and just let you know that I'll avoid this thread for ever as I can't do a proper diet more than 7 days in a row.
