Re: The Amazing Spider-Man
yeah and Carnage would be a logical extension for a later movie.
Biggest problem is the ageing of the main leads. It hurts me to say it, but Emma will really need to be replaced soon. She looked too old way back as Olive Pendeghast, let alone now.

yeah well luckily in the amazing universe she does get killed off, albeit by the green goblin, so really hope they dont follow that path, or just do a better job of making her look younger!

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man
Quite enjoyed this at Dominion in Edinburgh this afternoon with my itison tickets. Great comfy sofa to lie back on and footstool to put me feet on - all cinemas should be like this!
Some slight distratction from the noise of Batman in the big cinema above but I can live with that.
Thought Andrew Garfield did a good job.
Not quite sure why the remake so soon after the Tobey Maguire franchise though.
Enjoyable enough. 7/10

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man
Saw this today and really enjoyed it. Same old story but I thought the 3D was excellent. Not used to p*ying to see films anymore - blimey oh riley, it's expensive now!! And the food is such a rip off!! It was my Sons' birthdays so I shouldn't really moan!! One wanted to see Spiderman, the other wants to go Laser Quest at a later date! All of us really liked the film though.
Re: The Amazing Spider-Man
I really like the trend of the recent super-hero movies being more story driven rather than the usual feel good action movies. Watched Amazing Spiderman two weeks back, and I like how they've taken the story back to Peter's dad, and left a mysterious post-credits scene to pave way for the sequel. And I DO wonder who the weird guy was in the post-credits..Norman Osborn maybe ?!! ;p

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man
Saw this again recently in 2D and must admit that there was little difference between 2 and 3D. You could say that there were some action sequences which benefited from 3D but overall as a spectacle, pretty much no difference.
Back to the movie then, quite enjoyable and you realise how the right type of casting makes a huge difference to the enjoyment of a film. Garfield and Stone really held the movie together compares to McGuire and Dunst. The story, acting and action was also really good and can see why this recent incarnation has been received so positively. My original rating (6/10) still stands and am actually looking forward to the sequels.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man
I wanted to watch it the other day and stopped after 15-20min. Then I watched Spider-Man 3 and felt the excitement I had the first time I watched it! Maybe it's the Tobey Maguire effect, I don't know, but I just LOVE him as Spider-Man, it's like a drug!
I found The Amazing Spider-Man slow and boring... maybe I should try it again. It had good reviews, right? It just doesn't feel the same...
