I have an extremely URGENT refund matter which I desperately need to chat to someone about.
This is about as close as I will probably ever get to a life-and-death matter so if anyone can assist, believe me I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you.

FYI the numbers provided on the website lead straight to an automated voice message which cuts off after 2 minutes and e-mails return with a 'high volume of queries' auto-response.
try these numbers Jayman

Thanks Mr G. Unfortunately, 0844 847 2012 is the same number from the London2012 website.
0161 385 3620 is for Ticketmaster and their automated message says that they don't handle any Olympic ticketing queries.

I do appreciate the effort though.

Still no luck :(

0207 998 1919 leads back to 0844 847 2012.
And 0161 832 3975 seems to be a fax number.

oh dear. They must have switched it as they are getting too many calls. I have been successful with those numbers in the past.
Sorry you are not having any luck.
I really do not know what else to suggest.

I tweeted to London2012 last night and didn't get a response.

My e-mail came back with this response:
Thank you for your email. Our team is looking into your complaint and will respond as soon as possible.

Unfortunately we are not able to respond to ticket-related complaints at this email address. If your complaint relates to ticketing, please search the Ticketing FAQs (link to: http://www.tickets.london2012.com/help.html)to
find a suitable answer to your query. If you cannot find a suitable answer after searching, we recommend you use the 'Send us a question' feature ?
this is a link at the bottom of each answer. All questions are dealt with by a member of the London 2012 Ticketing team.
I have posted the same query via the web link so far to no avail.

Ms Thrifty wrote:I don't understand how losing at this stage wouldn't have meant they were eliminated anyway, though?
An understandable confusion, Ms Thrifty! The reason is because they already qualified for the next round but whoever won this particular controversial game, would be facing the very strong Chinese team. Its not your straightforward knockout competition where every game's incentive is to win and progress to the top of your group or next knockout stage. Here, you can lose strategically to gain an easier path. Its unsportman-like to play to lose, of course, there's no denying that but the system influences that mentatility.

What we have imo is 8 disqualified players made as scapegoat examples to deter others from doing the same. They could have simply warned everyone that from here on, players will be disqualified. That would have eased tensions all round. Then they can review the system later. But because its Olympics, the organisers are on ultra high pressure to react to incidents leading to irrational decisions for the sake of pleasing the spectators and country.
