No Mr G, still stuck in the doldrums with everything, which is mainly why I've not posted here lately: weather improved temporarily but the boots and foot are as problematic as ever. Still, going to get my foot x-rayed today, and even if that doesn't show anything, it may lead to a scan in due course, and that might be more helpful.

In our last house which was quite big there was always something to be done and I did my share Preston! I have helped put slates on the roof, stood on a platform to cut high hedges, etc. But the one my husband likes to tell friends is when we were fixing the roof on one of the outbuildings and he asked me to mix some cement for him. I asked how much cement and how much sand and he replied two parts to one. Okay, you know what I am going to say --- I mixed two parts cement to one part sand and hubby wondered why it was setting so quickly. :p In my logic if someone says mix me some cement then that must be the main ingredient not the sand!!! ;)

As for the cooking when I broke my wrist my husband had to cook (with me giving him instructions) but he has gone back to his old ways now of leaving it to me. He will never change now so I have given up!!

A note to the "lurkers" - join in as you can see we are all friendly and some (mentioning no names) are comedians!! ;)

Got to agree with Biggins - I do stuff without having to be asked. Husband usually has to be asked. That's the difference.

Honestly, the cheek of some men. Yesterday, someone knocked our wing mirror off. Left OH to sort as I was busy with something else. Got back from that to find that he was still waiting for a call back. I chased and got it sorted, took the car in to get it fitted. Showed the car to the guy at the garage and told him how annoying this all was, but at least they left their number. He asked whether I had called them and I said no, OH was going to do that. He asked if I was a "scaredy cat" 8O Honestly. Almost said to him "I'm a woman, a lawyer and I'm pregnant. What do you think." Instead I politely corrected him and used my wiles to get him to fix some other stuff.

Incidentally, please don't think my OH is useless. He's amazing in so many ways, especially when I am unwell, but he, like most men, sometimes needs a shove (or a sulk) to get him to do stuff...

Well done Biggins on your 2lb weight loss that is brilliant :cheer:
Biggins wrote:Has anyone else got the same problem - I ask hubby what would you like for tonight? Oh, anything he replies. So I say what about xxx. No he says anthing but xxx. So you suggest something else and you get the same response - no I don't fancy that. So after several rejected suggestions you feeling like saying- you choose something and cook it! He doesn't cook so I am left trying hard to come up with something that will be to his liking and I just eat that.

Wow what a lot of indulged OH's 8O
I just say what I'm cooking no choice given so he either eats what I am cooking (I will add extra/less bit to create a variation on my meal) or does without - I work more hours than he does and I do all the jobs in the house/ cooking so I'm not going to indulge him even more and as for asking someone else to go to the tip or fixing my car  - Preston you should know us girls better by now I love going to the tip it makes me feel productive. MrG you stopped driving as you know that us girls make better drivers ;)

So happy you had a lovely meal out Anakin and you are so right re getting full really quickly :D
So pleased that you are feeling better ClareBarr o/ ClareBarr I do the Tracy Anderson mat workout DVD which really does work - I now have ab muscles (not a 6 pack and I don't want one) purely for toning and then I alternate with my 4 mile brisk walks for cardiovascular exercise, the DVD does give you a bit of cardiovascular but its mainly for toning up and I actually love doing it  Thanks to all the girls and well said Biggins re getting that Preston under control :D

So sorry that you are still struggling with your foot MsThrifty it must be drving you mad.

Have fun I'm going to be timed out as at work but this thread is so good for us all. o/

Love the banter. Preston, I refuse to believe anything you say about Diane65. She visited us in London and was the epitome of respectability!
