Well done Clarebarr o/ - 5lbs is a lot to lose in three weeks. You thought you were never going to lose weight and there you are losing weight at a great rate.

I love Lake Windermere as it has always been one of my favourite places and has some lovely scenery. Enjoy your walks around there Diane.

Just in from another sea front walk - this time hubby and I were down at South Queensferry (where the Forth Bridge is) and had a lovely walk there.

Came in and caught up with my emails and doing a few competitions when I came across this which you may find interesting as it has recipes for 150 family meals under 500 calories. Other healthy recipes too plus a calorie checker.

Thanks Celini - will watch that video later. o/

Hi everyone,

I haven't been on the thread for a couple of days now and have some catching up to do.

Well done on maintaining your weight on your last weigh day Biggins and well done in keeping up with all the walking o/

Also very well done to ClareBarr! It sounds like you are really enjoying your swimming. As others have said 5lb lost in three weeks is truly fantastic. And your weight loss is testament to the fact that it's possible to still enjoy the odd indiscretion here and there and still be very successful overall. Good news for us all, because I think we've all been there!
Celini wrote:hello weight watchers, have you seen this http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... ve_Longer/
I thought it was worth a watch, and may inspire some of you to try something else...
Celini, thanks for posting that link o/ It was indeed an interesting programme. Food for thought certainly, did anyone else watch it? If so, what did you think?

Hey I finally made Anakin's soup recipe on Saturday. Because of their bizarre multiple p*rchase discount system, Waitrose were literally giving people almost £2 to take away 2 packs of their "bargain corner" reduced price podded peas.

I love these better than free offers so got 4 packs and used 2 for the recipe. It took me ages to "depod" the 2 bags - I wonder if that would count as part of my fitness regime. :shifty: I used sour cream instead of double cream and couldn't add any roasted cumin seeds because I didn't have any. The soup turned out to be very rich, thick and filling. o/

I've eaten much more of it than I should have done and I've also had too much ginger cake 8O over recent days too. I suspect that I may put some weight on this week! :tears: I'm going to try and fill up with water for the next couple of days instead of bingeing on inappropriate stuff.

Your trip to the Lakes sounds great Diane - I bet you'll have a good time! I've got my fingers crossed for good weather for you. :cross:

Today's Meals:

1) Two Weetabix with blueberries and semi-skimmed milk.

2) breaded cod fillet, new potatoes, cauliflower and peas.

3) Chicken and vegetable stir fry with ginger and light soy sauce,

4) Earl Grey Tea with lemon. Crackers and light Philadelphia cheese, celery batons and grapes.

Be good and have fun everyone! :D

Glad you enjoyed the soup and found another use for the fresh ginger but ginger cake  (I don't blame you as I love it)
I'm really looking forward to the lakes especially if the weather is good - I will have about 7 hours there so loads of time to have plenty of walks and maybe afternoon tea somewhere as it will be my treat day.

Menu of the day:
All bran and a banana with a black coffee (350 calories)
Boots shapers coronation chicken wrap (310 calories) plus a chocolate/mint nougat bar (81 calories)
Boots Mediterranean chicken salad (143 calories) Weight watchers nectarine yoghurt (50 calories)
250 calories to spare which is good o/ They were selling off the meals at Boots last night with today's date on them for 50p so we're all on Boots meals today.

As I'm off work today and have no meals to prepare and basically free all day I will go for a couple of hours walk in the countryside especially as the weather is lovely.

Have a fun day everyone and looking forward to hearing from everyone.

Feeling guilty cos I just had a bit of chocolate (I caved!!!). Oh well, I gave it up on 23 July & nothing til now. Also I only had half the bar (250 cals!!) & put the rest back in the cupboard for another time. On the plus side though, I swam 30 lengths today (600m) & just did 20mins of my exercise dvd.....the "old me" would've scoffed chocolate all day & not exercised much (if at all), so I guess it's an improvement......?

Hello! Been quite busy these last few days so just catching up. Well done (as usual!) to everyone, you're all doing great, weight loss or not. Glad to hear everyone is well, and Clare, a bit of chocolate is ok, been almost a month, so that's amazing! All this walking / cycling / swimming / DIYing is exhausting me just reading about it. I think you're all sending your weight my way... to quote a friend, I'm not as svelte as I used to be (all in a good cause, of course). Quite liberating actually!

Glad you're all liking the soup - perhaps I should make myself some again! Excited to hear what you're all up to :D

Good morning everyone :D

As I'm going to be working straight through today I will have to eat on the go so it will be repetitive but at least its healthy.

Menu of the day:
Special K and a black coffee (300 calories)
Cup a soup and a bread roll followed by a weight watchers nectarine yoghurt (300 calories)
Ham salad wholemeal roll followed by 2 mandarins (300 calories)
2 lots of go ahead bars each being 150 calories (300 calories)
I know its not very balanced but I want to stick to just working 1 day this week as I'm on annual leave the rest of the week.

I've done my exercise DVD this morning. What is everyone else up to? I know its my weigh in day tomorrow but as not at my NHS job this week I won't have access to the scales there so may have to wait until Monday for my weigh in.

Good morning and good luck with your weigh in Preston1990 - I will do mine on Monday as I'm not in work until Monday.

Its treat day today :cheer:

Menu of the day:
Special K clusters and a black coffee
Then heading off to Windermere and Kendal for the day and having afternoon tea at http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j& ... XkCzo3hvIQ. Does a walk around Peter Rabbits's garden count as exercise? We will walk down to Bowness so we will walk at least 4 miles.

ClareBarr you have done so well with no chocolate for so long o/ Biggins enjoy your walks and you and Preston are my inspiration for today's trip o/

:shifty: Put on a pound this week :nono: - I'm not really surprised - my exercise has been a bit sporadic of late and not really sufficient to counteract the increased amount of unsuitable food that I've been gorging myself on lately.

Roll on next week! I'll try to do better!

I will be away on my hols on next weighday so pressure off till end of month - but I'll be trying to be reasonably good nonetheless.

Don't worry about those few chocolate calories, ClareBarr - your swimming will have more than counteracted them - and we all need a treat from time to time o/

......a bit like the massive portion of fish and chips I had at lunchtime today (it more that wiped out any good coming from our 20 mile ride today) - my bike buddies are a bad influence.

Yes, but only if you lunched on the Cos lettuces that Benjamin Bunny nibbled on and the Long Scarlet Radishes that Peter Rabbit ate in the famous illustration!. :D

Hope you had a lovely time at Windermere Diane. A walk anywhere is still exercise so it counts.

With all that cycling Preston I am surprised you put on any weight but I am sure you'll lose it again and more with all your exercise.

I am not having a good week food wise as I know I have had more to eat this week so not expecting any miracle on Friday when I weigh myself. :noo:

BUT today I got great news. Last week I went to the doctor to ask him to test my blood sugar levels to see if the weight lose (total 10lbs) and cutting down on carbs has helped. He phoned me with the results this afternoon and my HBac1 has gone down from 8.1 to 7.0!!!! :D :D
Still a bit to go but I am delighted as it proves that what I have been doing by cutting down on carbs has not only helped me lose weight but has made a tremendous difference to my diabetes since my last blood test in April.

So Diane you can tell your patients that you don't have to starve yourself or exhaust yourself with hours of exercise to make a difference.
