I saw it on DVD under another name (1+1) and not in english. It's a very good film .I enjoyed it and would love to see it again! Highly recommended!

It's taken Germany by storm under the stupidly ungrammatical title "Ziemlich beste Freunde" (Rather best friends). Really, if there is something the Germans are good at (apart from making cars) it's giving foreign films idiotic German titles.

I don't quite understand why it would have been called 1+1??

edit: Just checked IMDb, 1+1 is the Russian/Ukranian title
this is really odd, at least the German title do relate to the film content!

There is an interesting article in yesterday's Sunday Telegraph. I would post a link if I could find it. It's basically an interview with both real life stars whose story made the film - I didn't know this is actually based on true events! There is apparently talk about an English remake with Colin Firth in it. Geez, can we have the original first? What's this obsession with remakes of foreign language films anyway?

It's based on a true story, yes but Algerian-born Abdel Sellou's race has been changed to the Senegalese Driss (played by the magnificent Omar Sy).

BTW Wtf is the real title of the movie? IMDB has it as Untouchable and Intouchables but the poster has it as The Intouchables.
Is "Intouchable" a real English word?

it just sounds like a badly Anglicised title, the original title in French is "Intouchables", plural, no article, so this should be an adjective and not a noun, hence the proper translation being "untouchable"
Omar is indeed really good in this film, he "stole" the Cesar to Jean Dujardin as best lead actor

I agree. He is extremely charismatic in this movie - steals every scene he's in.
As fluffy and cheesy as the movie is, his performance makes it absolutely believable.

Which doesn't stop everyone asking for tickets to "The Untouchables" as if they were in any way to do with The Expendables or The Incredibles or any other "ables" films out there.

The Untouchables is a brilliant 1987 De Palma Gangster flick.
