They often have visiting companies taking over during the summer; though usually opera and ballet.nickchanel wrote:I can's see it happening at The Coliseum. It would interfere with their existing work way too much, and I think that they'd have technical issues given the setup of their shows.

This is meant to be "permanent", but I was shocked too when I saw that name come up and Apollo Hammersmith.

What do we think about this Shakespeare double-bill - interesting take on it or boring as hell?

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
This evening, me and my Sister went to see 'Billy Liar' at the Ashcroft Theatre (thanks c_t for the Code!) The play was comical in parts. The acting was good (although they mucked up twice on lines). The best performance was from Samantha Siddal who played Mandy Macguire in 'Shameless'. At times, the scenes reminded me of my own family life!! We had good seats at the front. Behind us was a young family with a baby in arms, who unfortunately cried quite a bit. I'm sure it must've put the actors off. The baby was breastfed too during the performance (this was noisier than the crying!!) .. and if that wasn't annoying enough, the family then insisted on zipping a bag open and shut, open and shut, to get sweets out of THE most noisiest bag EVER!!!

Goodness, are babies allowed in the theatre? Surprised the management did not do something!

I didn't think babies would be allowed either. I could only hear them. But I know they kept passing the baby back and forth, which surely put off the actors and nearby audience too.prettyxcool wrote:Goodness, are babies allowed in the theatre? Surprised the management did not do something!

Stay away from it at all costs.
Two very conflicting reviews. So none the wiser whether to see it or not. Although, I had high hopes for it as it was advertised as "The World's Sexiest Cabaret". However it was very disappointing, I have been to Moulin Rouge and lots of Burlesque, and similar types of cabaret. The lighting effect was quite good covering the naughty bits but this was so very repetitive and so boring, I nearly fell asleep!RickyRaj wrote:I went to see the Crazy Horse, Forever Crazy show yesterday - different to other shows and very entertatining.
NOTE: I had secured tickets via Showfilmfirst but they had run out of tickets when I got there - which didn't make sense to me. Fortuneately I was at the front of the 'see if Showfilmfirst can allocate more tickets' queue and so myself and my + 1 were lucky enough to get a seated tickets.
Getting in was very civilised though, no queues. There was a box office for SFF print-outs, and they just wrote on it the number of SFF tickets they so far had, so we were No. 16 and 17. Then we waited in the bar until we were allowed in. We were shown to our seats, which was the two rows in front of the booths at the back. Unfortunately, they seemed to be filling up the back row first, so as we arrived early we got the back row, so with two tall men and a pillar in front of me, three-quarters of the stage was blocked from my view!
