I loved this too, even after the annoying silent first 3 minutes - did we miss anything? I sense golden statues come February, especially as has been said a best supporting nod for alan arkin... We,ll see.

Really just to echo what everyone else is saying, this was a really great film.

I didn't really get a chance to research it beforehand, so it was especially good, because I didn't have high expectations.

3 out of 3 for Affleck as a Director  o/

I can't believe we were shoved in the tiny sweltering hot screen 5 at the Crapadero! it was full by 6.10, so many people not able to see this cracking film. Really exciting and tense, the real footage blended well and the period details were spot on. Mustaches and big lapels were the thing to be seen in, in the 70's

10/10
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks

As usual, I got to Shaftesbury Avenue early and got a terrible seat, so people who got there on time would have had no chance. There was one girl sitting on the floor in front of the front row!

I found this really tense, really gripping - more so than I expected.
When they were on the plane and being chased, you knew they would of course get away - but it still felt tense, right up until they left Iranian airspace.
Great catch line as well!

Many thanks to cliveas for the tickets, I'm glad I saw it. Still getting to see The Sapphires - shame I couldn't see both and The Impossible, but that would have been greedy. I figured if The Impossible was coming out next year, there would be more opportunities to see it later.
Preferred cinemas:
Vue West End, Cineworld Haymarket, Odeon West End, Odeon Leicester Square, Empire Leicester Square, Cineworld O2, Cineworld Shaftesbury Avenue and Odeon Panton Street, followed by anywhere in central(ish) London.

meh.

generous 6/10.

adequate acting / direction.

looked great in a 70's "all the presidents men" kinda way, but thats where comparison ends.

half expectied Ron Burgandy to turn up, or Team America helicopter to drop in. durpa-durpa.

ps if you know the real story beforehand, film has zero tension.
