I'm sorry to say I don't know It wasn't Gina. This one was quite tall and had short blonde hair.

I took DD who is 9 to see this at Braehead last night. She was born in Aus so I thought it would be good for her to see an Aussie film depicting Aboriginal issues such as the stolen generation in a way that is quite unique to Australian cinema. We both loved it and she had lots of questions on the way home which I did my best to explain. A good strong story about love and family and lots of singing which delighted DD who also gave the lady some sound bites after the movie which will be used on Radio Clyde from next week :)

Your friends were lovely! DD was so excited about getting interviewed and the lady said she did very well. We had to do a comfort break otherwise we would have been standing together and could have had a chat.

Saw this in Edinburgh last night.

I really enjoyed it. The music was great.

Yes, it was done on a tight budget but that didn't detract from the story and the fact they all really looked like they were genuinely having fun making the film.

Chris O'Dowd was very good as was Deborah Mailman who played Gayle. I've always thought she was a great actress ever since I was a fan of the Aussie series The Secret Life of Us many years ago now.

It touched on several issues including the Lost Generation, and that was enough in terms of scene setting. It wasn't setting it's hat out as a political or issue driven film. It was meant as a comedy/drama and I enjoyed it for that.

Back from Showcase Glasgow. Thought it was pretty funny how the code came from More magazine yet the majority of the audience were certainly not More readers.

Film was far better than I thought. OH loved it and even said it was slighter better than Argo. But then she was seeing a much funnier film than me. Thought it was the right length. Any longer and it would had dragged. Soundtrack was good. Even felt my feet tapping away. You do really feel for the girls as outsiders. Yet they continue to try to follow their dreams and do better for themselves. 7/10

Went to the Sky screening last night in O2 Greenwich. I wasn't quite sure what I was expecting - while the film appear to have received very good reviews, I tried to water down the expectation to avoid potential disappointment. After seeing it, I must say that was redundant - the film was fantastic. I really liked it. It was funny, touching and while some parts were slightly cheesy, it was an overall heart warming story. I did think the film attempted to explore a few issues too many in the short time - America's involvement in the Vietnam war, Australia's lost generation, African-American civil rights movement, general social tension and prejudice towards the Aborignal people. The positive out of that is that it kept the film at an appropriate pace.

Really enjoyed the music - thinking of getting the soundtrack even!

I thought the film was really good and the soundtrack was excellent. Chris O'Dowd was as previously mentioned by others, perfect for the part he played. Quite a lot of witty repartee and I was pleasantly surprised at how good this movie was. Another movie enjoyed more for the fact that it was a true story. I enjoyed seeing the photographs of the "real" sisters/cousins at the end. I was surprised the Glasgow Bargeddie cinema was only about half full, but that's probably due to the fact that there are quite a few screenings of this movie around. I would (and already have) happily recommend this movie to friends and I too would have happily pa*d to go and see this one.

(Daddy Bill enjoyed this a lot too, though hadn't been too sure that he wanted to go to see it at the start as he thought it was going to be a stereotypical "musical") !

Well worth a watch.
