I'm still not entirely sure what I think of this film. All I know is that I did find it quite disturbing in parts, possibly because for me the idea of being blind and deaf would make me want to kill myself because I would never be able to enjoy the most important things that make me who I am. I didn't understand why Ewan McGregor's character wasn't totally and utterly distraught when he lost his sense of smell yet alone his sense of taste. I mean sure they showed that he could think outside the box, but I'm sorry, no one who used those senses for a job that they were sincerely passionate about would not simply go ok i'll do something else. You'd freak the hell out, and at no point did anyone really seem to do this. They knew it was coming ok, but still, you'd still freak out!

The panic didn't translate at all. The story felt so weak in parts. I didn't like the narration, though I thought the imagery was beautiful but made the film feel too cut and paste.

I kind of don't want to think any more about it, it was far too depressing. I actually feel really crappy today after watching that.

5/10
