There's my full thoughts. They went to some dark places in this film, much more serious than any other Bond film I've seen. So James Bond is a rapist now huh? It's an interesting place to go, but I think an honest one considering how he treats women.
Rapist?
Who? When? Where?

Well:
- He meets Severine and manages to work out almost immediately that she's a former child prostitute. In the same conversation he casually informs her he's killed somebody, and acts like it's not a big deal to him.
- Severine invites him to her boat, and we see her sitting with two empty champagne glasses looking disappointed that Bond hasn't shown up.
- The boat pulls away - Bond must be on the boat by now. Crouching in the darkness he looks through the window and sees her sitting there disappointed with the champagne. Does he make a move now? No he doesn't.
- Sometime later, Severine decides to take a shower. Bond observes her taking her clothes off. Still he does nothing.
- Severine gets into the shower. Bond sneaks up behind her and grabs her. It's arguable at this point that Severine consents due to her reaction, but lets bear in mind two things, a) she is a former prostitute, so if anyone can act like they're happy when they're not, it's her, b) she has recently learned that Bond, a grotesquely over-muscled man is pretty casual about killing people - even if she DID fight back as far as she's concerned he could just snap her neck like a twig.
- We have no way of knowing whether Severine consented, and based on the fact that Bond CHOSE to play peeping tom for an indeterminate amount of time, and chooses to strike at the moment when she's most vulnerable we can deduce that his actions are far from romantic.
- Therefore, James Bond is a rapist.
This isn't a criticism of the film btw, I think it's entirely consistent with the character of James Bond.
