Oscars 2013

#1 Post by superhero » Mon Nov 19, 2012 10:53 pm

I think this year, it must be revenge of the Hollywood studios. They really can't let "foreign" countries walk off with the gongs every year.
Then again we might have Daniel Day Lewis for Best Actor (again!)

I fancy Cloud Atlas to win a few!
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"

A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

I really hope Roger Deakins wins for the cinematography in Skyfall, I think he did an amazing job - not sure if it'll happen given some of the other films released this year but he has been nominated 9 times and not won.

Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2011" club. I saw 20, interestingly enough. My more realistic target was to see more free films than TheyCallMeMrGlass. I lost.

Definitely looks like it's USA's year judging from the Golden Globe noms. Lincoln, Django Unchained, Les Miserables (even a snub for Brit, Tom Hooper).

Cockneys vs Zombies anyone?

But seriously, I hope Life of Pi gets a nod or two. I have a feeling it'll bag a bunch of noms but will walk away with nada. It'll be this year's Hugo. Argo seems to be the frontrunner right now.

I definitely want Tom Holland to get a nod for his role in The Impossible. Intouchables too.
