Love the book, I hope Ang Lee does the book justice.

I saw a trailer for this in America and was very confused.

Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2011" club. I saw 20, interestingly enough. My more realistic target was to see more free films than TheyCallMeMrGlass. I lost.

Life Of Pi

There doesn't seem to be a thread (merge/delete if there is one). Hopefully I won't botch the YouTube link!

I was sold on this film when I saw the trailer at a Taken 2 screening. My objective is to read the book before watching it - so that's 150 pages left to read in 6 days.

The books seems very different from the trailers I've seen (the films looks colourful and magical, almost like a fantasy film, whereas the book is a more realistic survival story), nonetheless I can't wait for the film!

I'm assuming if it doesn't say so on the ticket, then no. My tickets for Sunday just say Life Of Pi, but a friend has Sky tickets for the 11th which says "in 3D"

I have no idea how they are going to do the book as a film. I wonder if it is one to watch in 3d?

Apparently it has the best 3D of any film released since Avatar. I've just read the book and I can't see how the film will do it justice, very interested to see how it turns out - especially considering the reviews coming from the US.

From what I can tell, it doesnt follow the book, it is at it says an adaptation, theyve adapted it to screen meaning that the two will never be the same o/
Suppose you could say its more of an 'inspired by' sort of thing.

The synopsis on Wikipedia looks reasonably similar, although they've added a love interest for Pi in India it seems. Not long to find out now anyway :)
