Good job We dont live too far away dont know if We will bother going out again later back too cinema.
yes, also caught in the delay. we were allowed up just after 6.30pm. told it was delayed. only told (because we asked) it would 7.30pm, at 7.15pm. But there were lots of latecomers who weren't waiting in the lobby. were some tipped off about the delay? or is it such a normal occurance at the odeon greenwich that everyone sets their clock by it?
I got there just after 6pm and they were telling people individually that the film would be starting at 7.30pm so I think a lot of people knew. We came in at about 7pm and noticed a lot of seats were filled, probably by the people they let straight up at 6.30pm.

Odeon Greenwich has a rubbish customer service. Considering we had to wait over an hour for the film to start (I'm sure it started closer to 7.40pm), we were not lucky enough to be offered vouchers or the opportunity to see an earlier starting film. It was Monday night and the cinema was dead anyway so we wouldn't have been taking precious seats for p*ying customers. They are just awful when it comes to responding to things like this.

As for the film, I can't say it was worth the wait at all unfortunately. A very dreary start, that barely picks up. The only highlight was watching the actor who played older Pip, but even his looks couldn't hold my interest for long. I don't know if it was because of the long wait but this felt like it dragged on way too long. Only 5/10 for me, I wouldn't rush to see it again.

Seen in Manchester. In my opinion, book was adapted very accurately in this movie

This adaptation seemed a little uninspiring. Nothing to really stand out about it when compared to the numerous versions already available.

It is well acted etc... just bland. 5/10

Good thing my expectations were not great, or I would have been even more disappointed than I actually was. For the best part of the movie I was just waiting for it to get to it, to be over with. Having said that, I have to admit it was not the worst adaptation, but it was lacking in the acting department, making me think of an amateur performance rather than professional production.
It's a good thing that the story itself is great, otherwise it would have been a complete bust for me.

I thought it was a terrific story and was pulled in by that. I hadn't see any of the other adaptations and the only character i had any knowledge about was Havisham from Carol Ann Duffy's poem. Helena's performance and character was my favorite of the film. Felt they packed a little too much into this film at the expense of the character's actually pulling you in emotionally.

7/10 :undecided:

Enjoyed it but was disappointed with HBC...sooo boring she is sooo typecast n quite frankly I think she can only play one character..herself!

Watched this with my free O2 ticket. I have never read the book so was not sure what to expect but found the storyline quite complicated. I thought HBC was good but yep she is very typecast, shes the same in every film!
